Bush, Iran and the peril of religion

Here we go again:
VIENNA, Austria (AP) - Iran threatened the United States with "harm and pain" Wednesday for its role in hauling Tehran before the U.N. Security Council over its nuclear program.

Another day, another news flash about Iran and their freaking bomb. Is it any wonder why they want nuclear power? If a super-power, ruled by a fanatical cabal of Christian fascists, headed by a booger-eating moron, recently invaded and occupied one of your neighbor’s for political, ideological and personal reasons—wouldn’t you feel the need to arm yourself?
Of course I don’t relish the idea of an Iran with nuclear power, but neither do I like the reality of Bush with his slimy fingers any were near the button. Certainly in a perfect world there wouldn’t be any nukes but….
Anyway, just the thought of someone who takes any religion seriously, believes in the concept of good vs. evil, and actually buys into the idea of an afterlife, is a threat to the world if he has nuclear power.
For a while it seemed as if Iran was heading for reform, the youth of the country were beginning to revolt, (wish that would happen here) but something happened to stymie that. What happened? Incurious George slithered his way out of Texas and into the White House, proceeded to stir up a hornet’s nest in the Middle East, and you know the rest. Iran is now lead by another hard-liner with nuclear ambition. It’s funny how when a country—a democracy or other--feels threatened, whether it be a clear danger or a phantom menace, the end result is; a demented, violent, brutal asshole for a leader. It happened here in 04.

Hello,

For the past year, the growing tensions mounting between the US, Israel, and Iran are reaching a point where military action against Iran is w/in months of becoming reality. The repercussions are terrifying as such military action could involve countries such as China and Russia as they share massive energy/economic interests w/ Iran. The most likely scenario we would face would be the collapse of the US economy as the combination of a massive rise in oil prices and a run on the US dollar would surely be the weapon many countries would use to fight back against a preemptive US or Israeli strike.
