Fox's Chris Wallace wants to commit Mike Wallace
"The ultra-right wing News-Max reports today that Mike Wallace's son, Fox news anchor and Sunday talkshow host Chris Wallace, wants his dad put away for being against the war and disliking Dubya. Asked about the legendary CBS newsman's comment to the Boston Globe last week that the fact George Bush had been elected president shows America is "-up," his son told conservative Boston radio host Howie Carr, "He's lost it. The man has lost it. What can I say. He's 87-years old and things have set in," the Fox anchor (left) continued. "I mean, we're going to have a competence hearing pretty soon." Returning to the topic of his father's competence, Wallace Jr. explained: "He's checked out. I don't understand it," beyond the fact that Wallace Sr. has "problems with the war."

On Thursday, the elder Wallace told the Boston Globe that if he had the chance to interview President Bush, he'd ask: "What in the world prepared you to be the commander in chief of the largest superpower in the world? In your background, Mr. President, you apparently were incurious. You didn't want to travel. You knew very little about the military. . . . The governor of Texas doesn't have the kind of power that some governors have. . . . Why do you think they nominated you? . . . Do you think that has anything to do with the fact that the country is so up?"

If you ask me, it's the odious Chris Wallace who needs the straight-jacket"

I watched the interview with Mike Wallace on Dateline Friday night and he has no signs of dementia (formerly known as "senility") whatsoever. I can attest to that. I spent much of my work life in a Skilled Nursing Facility, so I know what dementia looks like, and Mike doesn't have it, 87 or no 87. What must it be like for Mike to have his offspring turn into a Foxpropagandist and having him say "the old man disagrees with me which means he's nuts."

3. Where are his family values?
Sad!!!

Even if it were true, it is wrong to talk about your own father this way to total strangers. It's shocking, and these people think we should let them run this country?

10. Honor your father, anyone?
What a nut. And a low sense of decency. :grr: :dunce:

People can disagree but to sink to implying that someone has dementia, and to use it as an insult, is just really beyond the pale. If we follow Chris' method, he'll have to lock up about six out of ten people in this country, since that's about what polls say agree with Mike.

What a maroon.

11. I saw the same interview on 'Dateline,' too
Mike seemed as sharp to me as he's always been and I found myself wondering whether he was embarrassed that Chris is whoring himself for FoxNews and the Bush administration. I think this time the apple fell really far from the tree.

And intimating that your father is crazy and needs to be committed because he doesn't like the current Chief Executive? Classy. Way to go, Chris. :sarcasm:

12. Damn... I think this is worthy for next weeks Top 10!
Unless anything bigger happens I'd have to place this at #1. It's sad, pathetic, and some what funny at the same time. I say it's funny because the oozing hypocrisy. When is the hearing for Family Values start? I know someone who is guilty!

13. Scary - to be labeled senile just because you disagree with
chimpy. Of course, if the repukes got their way, they'd probably declare everybody on this board a raving lunatic.

15. I do hope that this is another case of NewsMax taking
words out of context or fabrication. Otherwise I have to agree - no business talking like this is public - and it really does give the impression that those whose minds get captured by the far right echo chamber are so far gone that they would quickly, and viciously turn on their own - just because of political opinion differences.
