Land of the Free and Home of the Ignorant
http://www.capitolhillblue.com/artman/publish/article_3311.shtml

It's official -- watching Fox News makes you ignorant.

To be precise, researchers from the Program on International Policy at the University of Maryland found that those who relied on Fox for their news were more likely than those who relied on any other news source to have what the study called "significant misperceptions" about the war in Iraq.

<snip>

Fox News Senior Vice President John Moody retorted that the study only asked people about "their impressions, not what they knew to be true."

I'm not sure what point he thought he was making, but it was lost on me.

Moody also -- employing the kind of linguistic cudgel that so often the marks the on-air verbal perambulations of his employees -- called the study a "tutt-tutting exercise in academic self-arousal."

1. Now ,now, so Fox watchers are stuped. What other news do you have,
I was reading Free Rep today now that is really something. What are those people thinking or is that it, they do not think at all.I have never seen such people and how they just spout what they are told. God with them we would still have been ruled buy the Brits.And killed off all the minute men at the Bridge.

2. Not Land of the Free anymore, either
More like land of the overworked, jaded, tired, harried, hurried, psychomanipulated, propagandized, and bootlicking slavish Imperial Subjects.

Although, at least until the Busheviks are finished destroying the Old American Republic at the top, we eher at "the bottom" can and will continue to live in denial that we live in an Orwellian-Totalitarian Empire.
