Bush's troubles mount as Republican defections increase
by Doug Thompson

A private poll recently commissioned by Republican leaders shows the GOP would lose control of both the House and Senate if midterm elections were held today and supports mounting evidence that the party must distance itself from President Bush if it wants to hold on to Congressional control in 2006.

GOP strategists who have seen the poll warn House and Senate leaders that Bush’s numbers will continue to fall and there may be no way the party can avoid catastrophe as long as the President remains in office.

“I’ve never seen anger like this in the American populace,” says political scientist George Harleigh, who served in the Nixon administration. “There’s an old rule in politics that says no slide is irreversible. The President’s declining numbers suggest he will go down in history as the exception to that rule.”

Increasingly, GOP candidates for office – both incumbent and challengers – tell the White House and the national campaign committee they want nothing to do with Bush and will refuse to appear with him at any events.

1. Sometimes I feel a twinge of pity for Bush
but then I remember the image of a soldier with his face literally blown off, the use of white phosphorous against civilians (oh, I forget, if they wer in Fallujah they must have been combatants), the secret prisons, the torture, the profiteering, the Katrina victims, the erosion of civil liberties, the arrogance, the croneyism, the vacations...
burn in Hell, George, you motherfucker you.

3. I said it before and here it is again. The Republicans who want to
survive will call for aWoL's impeachment before the '06 election. The rats will not be able to run away from the NeoCovicts TITANIC.

4. Bush has failed spectacularly at everything he has ever done.
His presidency will go down as a Crowning Achievement in the History of Failure.

5. What scares them is not just the numbers. They know they have
made enemies who are bright, have long memories and will fight them to the death. You wanted war. You have it until a stillness at appomattox.

6. It could be too late
though it is early. traditionally this strategy does not play well especially against very bad poll numbers, so if the party gets divided between those trying to sit it out loyally and safely, vs. desperate crime collaborators vs. cowardly defectors it can ALL work against everyone. You can run but you can't hide.

The sad part of this perceived cowardice is how playing such a weak hand is their only hope to mitigate sinking polls as they are forced to destroy their party and agenda from within. I think Dems have "been there" but with the addition that even those with character and class were not exempt from the general party meltdown. One would hope the fact that the GOP has no such rocks of integrity will make matters for them(who do not support the interests of the citizenry) and pariahs for their greedy donors.

The next stage, which is almost too late to be a credible option is to make a "career change" and choose not to run. And then the scramble for bright shining suckers to thrown to the wolves will begin- which might smash some of the young upcoming GOP wunderkind very nicely. MIHOP.

that 2006 & 2008 will be ours if President remains in office. Now they have 2 choices. 1 get Mr. pissypants out of office or 2 lose your seat Mr. rethug. Which ever way it goes will surly help us. Take your pick! Bwaaaaaaaaaaa the American people have spoken. Take that LOL

9. no matter what these repuke rats do to try to leave the sinking ship....
...our dem candidates must emphasize that these repuke bastards sided with bush only until his poll numbers fell. the reason his poll numbers fell was because of his horrible policy which every last one of these filthy repuke senators and congressmen supported. they're too late in jumping ship....they were part of the problem. every dem candidate must pound that fact into the head of every voter in 2006.

they need to grab these slimy repuke bastards by the throats and not let up for one minute.
