Radioactive Tank No. 9 Comes Limping Home
Radioactive Tank No. 9 Comes Limping Home

Bob Nichols

from the San Francisco Bay View

November 13, 2005

Across the plains of Kansas, destroyed, radioactive Abrams tanks, perched on railroad flatcars, rolled towards an uncertain future. Only one thing was certain. They would be radioactive forever. This would be their everlasting death mask. The Pentagon deceptively calls it "depleted uranium."

<snip>

Dr. Doug Rokke

Dr. Doug Rokke is the Pentagon's former director of the U.S. Army Depleted Uranium Project. When contacted on Oct. 22, he viewed Chris Bayruh's photographs and made this statement about the radioactive tanks in Kansas: "The radioactive damaged Abrams tanks that were left unsecured on a Kansas railroad track are a perfect example of exactly how not to ship damaged radioactive equipment and how not to protect our Army's Abrams tanks from possible sabotage and compromise of classified battle systems."

On Oct. 10, prior to the discovery of the radioactive tanks, Dr. Rokke made the following statement. It is eerily predictive of what would happen in Kansas three days later. "U.S. Department of Defense officials continue to deny that there are any adverse health and environmental effects as a consequence of the manufacture, testing and/or use of uranium munitions to avoid liability for the willful and illegal dispersal of a radioactive toxic material - depleted uranium."

Dr. Rokke continued, "They arrogantly refuse to comply with their own regulations, orders and directives that require United States Department of Defense officials to provide prompt and effective medical care to all exposed individuals." (See Note 1 below.)

1. How nice.
I wish I knew where in Kansas they are or what track line they travel on. There is a track 1/2 block from my farm and future home. Now I know they will not leave them there because the line is used for a lot of things but if I ever see tanks I will try to do something about it. Like that will help .

be cautioned these are as bad as it gets.. serious birth defects.!!

this is our gift to the Iraqi's that will keep on giving till our sun matures into a red dwarf and expands in size beyond the orbit of Jupiter.

3. Insane...
And God help us all if they do manage to resurrect the plan for bunker buster nukes. If I understand it, this administration agreed to sell Israel these nukes for use against Iran...as soon as they were developed.

This is a fine way to manage an apocalypse.

4. I doubt
you will ever see a functional bunker buster nuke.

As I have said before, the task is similar to designing a
watch mechanism that will keep perfect time after you shoot it with a .357 magnum.

This is the mother of all boondoggles. It makes SDI look easy.

6. Tank No. 9
Edited on Sat Nov-26-05 02:06 AM by bobnichols9470
This is Bob Nichols, author of the article on the Radioactive Tank.

The story given for the bunker buster nuke is a lie for cover. There is an elegant and simple formula for the maximum depth of penetration for a bomb. It is simply: Max penetration = 4 x the length of the bomb. Simple as that.

The smallest deployable nuke still digs a hole 600 ft deep. The bunker burrowing buster crap to get the blast underground is a lie. They just wanted to tell all the militaries in the world that they would not hesitate to nuke their ass.

Some people have said they will get their Sheriff to impound the train and arrest the Engineer for transporting radioactive contraband. Others are going to call a HAZMAT Team out.

I agree the Iraqi people's Genome is toast. But, it is not just the Iraqis, this stuff spreads.

The contract with Israel was for 5000 2,000 lb bunker buster bombs made of dense metal, probably uranium. The bomb factory line that makes these devices had to be shut down twice because everyone working the line contracted acute hemolytic anemia from the radiation.

The fascist NeoCons are wholly insane with the way they play haphazardly with radioactive material. It is past time to replace this fascist government.

Regards,

Bob Nichols

8. How about Chertoff or Rumsfeld coming down to personally
manage the disposition of that equipment. If not them, then someone who can get the job done, like a DOD official.

Let THEM get up close, touch metal parts, move things around. See if they will even get any where near the state of Kansas...yet they order our guys to w/o providing them the necessary protection to handle hazardous material.

This argument has been around for a long time:
