Enemy of the State
"According to a printout from a computer controlled by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Department of Justice, I am an enemy of the state.

The printout, shown to me recently by a friend who works for Justice, identifies me by a long, multi-digit number, lists my date of birth, place of birth, social security number and contains more than 100 pages documenting what the Bureau and the Bush Administration consider to be my threats to the security of the United States of America."

3. That is very disturbing
and not at all surprising. I feel a little funny even replying to this post. We all know it is happening. Yet the FBI cannot find the anthrax killer. Right? :scared:

4. President Clinton was on the FBI's sh**-list
Louis Freeh thought it was of the utmost importance to pursue him over every wingnut-generated non-scandal.

5. Yes, and I have read here on DU that Al Gore and Ted Kennedy
are on the no-fly list. This is the same thing that happened in the 70s. I have a relative who designed the database that tracked subscriptions to "subversive" magazines and other innocuous activities. Yet some people still think this is way out tinfoil stuff.

6. Heads will roll at the FBI when Dems take back the Congress
Edited on Tue Nov-08-05 09:55 AM by Neil Lisst
All of those who have participated in this UnAmerican Activity in the name of national security can kiss their FBI careers goodbye.

There will be a house-cleaning as soon as the congress under a Dem majority can investigate this fascist activity. It's outrageous that these modern day brownshirts are busy sticking their noses into the personal business of Americans.

They've written 120,000 such letters since 9/11, using them to investigate secretly the records of millions of Americans, primarily those who think George Bush is a moron who can't find his ass with both hands. It's a political activity, and those at the FBI who advocated it will eventually end their careers in shame.

There has not been a single case in which the 120,000 letters have played a role, except one, and the Justice Department lost that one, they're being sued over it, and they're going to lose millions as a result. Americans are going to savage the FBI over this, and if the FBI is smart, they'll start getting right with the Lord now, or Scooter will have company. The cover provided by Bush, Cheney, and DeLay are gone. Lady Liberty is back in town, and she's looking for some behinds to spank.

This would be a good matter for the ACLU and the trial lawyers to sue the government for damages, and for injunctive relief. Let the FBI spend all that time defending itself. Not since Nixon and Hoover defiled the FBI has its stature sunk so low.

The FBI hasn't done a single thing right in the fight on terror. They're busy snooping on citizens who have an opinion different from that of the RIGHT. Shame on them. They're traitors to everything Americans have lived and died for the past 230 years.

We have millions crossing the border illegally every years, billions of tons of containers coming into ports unchecked, and what is our FBI doing? Keeping files on war dissenters.

THAT is why 9/11 happened. Because the FBI didn't do its job, and now, it's still not doing its job. We need to have everyone fired who was involved in this dark mark on American history, and relegate them to page about Joe McCarthy, where they belong.

Any FBI agent engaging in such activities needs to go back and read the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and then read the Federalist Papers. Then read Madison and Jefferson's writings. Both would revile the modern day gestapo the FBI has become.
