For my 1000th post, MY editiorials from this week
I write a political comic strip, and the past three days are in the nature of editorials regarding the events of the past week.

I hope you'll take a look and comment. Thanks.

Neil Lisst is the name of the comic and you can find it with any search engine.

2. You have been influenced by Doonesbury. I like your graphics
You need to hone your message so it takes less overt explaination. (10/19)

Your 10/19 doesn't set up your 10/20 to 10/21 if a reader isn't as well informed as you are.

If 10/19 were about the speculation of Cheney indicted and a bogus threat, that would set of 10/20 to 21.

You do some very interesting stuff, keep it up!

4. Yes, but we're counting on the freshness of the issue
Edited on Sat Oct-22-05 06:09 AM by Neil Lisst
We can something most can't do, which is create new material overnight that is relevant to that day. If we had loaded the work we have already done, this week we would have talked more about Harriet Miers. Instead, we shifted gears and went with the Terror/indictments/VP issues.

We're getting substantial traffic at the site, up to 68 countries now, so it's getting pretty widespread coverage. It's intended to be educational and advocacy, as well as entertainment and humor. It's not going to mean much to anyone who isn't following US politics.

My Canadian cartoonist partner doesn't know many of the people we write about, so he's a good barometer of what people outside the US can know and not know. Also, I have relatives in Quebec, and friends in Europe, so we get feedback from people who don't know the US political scene very well.

We've made no attempt to market it yet. I'll probably approach some publishers or syndicates regarding it. Or, we might try to get it published regularly at a smaller newspaper tied into a larger chain of newspapers. I have one in mind we might launch from.

We have 50 days of comics up so far. The New Orleans stuff was very dark, morbid, in fact.

It's at the link in my sig.

5. The thumb was my cartoonist partner's idea.

You know old Bob Dole must eat viagra like breath mints.

If I haven't mentioned it, my artist/partner is in Canada, married, family, very religious, solid, middle of the road Canadian. Of course, if you know Canadians, you know they're all Democrats! Or they would be if they were in the US.

I'm the politico.

8. Bob Dole doles out the Bob Dole wood ...
If he makes Bob Dole and his Senator wife happy, then good for him.

I have never liked his politics, but Bob Dole has more substance and humor than any of this Bush Crime Family.

I hope you'll take a look. I've got some harsh things to say this week.
