Former FBI director: Clinton undermined Saudi bombing probe
Former FBI Director Louis Freeh on Sunday accused former President Bill Clinton of ditching the investigation into the 1996 bombing of a U.S. barracks in Saudi Arabia to pursue better relations with Iran.

1. gee--could it possibly be that bush needs the spotlight directed elsewhere
for his grotesque failures? WHY is freeh suddenly going on about this?

2. And just think, Freeh was Clinton's olive branch
that he offered to the Repukes. Let this serve as an example of trying to do something nice for these bastards.

10. I'll say it forever. Clinton's triangulation attempts strangulated him.
Freeh and the appointment of the CIA Directors were bad, bad mistakes. Olive Branches which had thorns in them and they in turned used them to hit him repeatedly.

I think Hillary will make the same mistakes.

12. good point...Poppy Bush rolled Clinton more than a few times, making
Clinton appear almost complicit ib Poppy's needed coverups.

Clinton wanted to be a uniter but Poppy took advantage of it to strengthen his own hold with unchecked covert operations.

4. What a puke!
I am supposed to believe that our overseas military are killed in a devastating bomb attack and Bill Clinton just wants money for his library from Prince Abdullah?
Can't you sue people for saying s--t like that?

I was in Dhahran Saudi Arabia when it all came down. The Saudi's don't give a crap
if we want the bad guys. They have their own problems to worry about. What's the U.S. going to do...stop buying oil? When the Saudi's find someone that might spill the beans he goes to chop square the very next friday.

Don't piss on a president that had more political savvy and did more for this country in one day than Bush will ever do in a lifetime.

I'm no DLC'r I'm just pissed that these are the people who gave us the WORST PRESIDENT in the history of this country and the damage may never be undone.

9. Gee, why wasn't Louie telling us this in 1996?
Seems to me Ken Starr would have happily gone after Clinton on this....if there was anything to this.

So what was Louie doing in 1996? Oh yeah, running the "no computers needed" FBI and chasing down every 2 bit floozy in Arkansas who had a story to tell.

If you want to Presidents who have profited personally from their relationships with Saudia Arabia, Louie, you might want to take a look-see into the Bush family's closet.

6. I suspect it's more an "alleged" link to Iran. Just cause he says there
is one doesn't mean shit.

The next major stateside terror attack will be blamed on Iran, giving us an excuse to bomb their nuclear facilities. And when * explains it all, in third grade language, to the American people, he will cite these old links, making the attack on Iran Clinton's fault.

Any bets?

8. In Richard Clarke's book,
"Against all Enemies" the US was close to going to war with Iran. The Saudi agreed NOT to be a base against Iran in war, if Iran doesn't arrange more terrorism. Iran didn't do more terrorism, so no war. Richard Clarke's book is read by enough people. "Pursue better relations", my ass, we were close to war.

14. Freeh is trying to cover his own butt.
After 9/11 the Republicans demonetized Clinton for appointing the Republican Freeh. They blamed (rightly) some of the incompetence on Freeh's FBI for ignoring a lot of the intelligence. The Repugs then transfered the blame to Clinton for appointing Freeh. Now they want to have it both ways by having Freeh come back and blame it all solely on Clinton. They're counting on the short term memory of the average citizen forgetting that Freeh's incompetence was one of the main sources to blame for the intelligence failure. All this makes clear is that Clinton had little control over Freeh and he was a plant whose main job was to attack Clinton instead of doing his job protecting the country.
