OPINION
The Faith-Based President Defrocked
By FRANK RICH
Published: October 9, 2005

The Harriet Miers nomination will be remembered as the flashpoint when the faith-based Bush base finally started to lose faith in our propaganda president........

The Kapitalist Times requires a subscription.

1. "The Kapitalist Times requires a subscription"
it would be free if you paid their journalists and columnists. Contact them and see if you work a deal out.

5. sorry to be the bearer of bad news
NY Times, whether you agree or disagree with them, pays hundreds of thousands a year to each columnist, and that money has to be made somehow. If you agree with their views you pay, if you don't you do nothing.

11. uh, so who says they have to do that?
After all, it's about the news and information, right? It's about the public discourse, is it not?

And the fact that they printed BOGUS stories that helped start the illegal invasion of Iraq is the final straw, IMO.

I had a subscription to the times for many years, by the way.

4. The Times will never get a cent from me if it goes to Judith Miller
Why would anyone support such a corrupt institution that is bereft of credibility? I like Frank Rich and Krugman- I detest the way the Times allowed itself to be hijacked by Rove/Cheney et al.

Edited on Sun Oct-09-05 11:34 AM by paineinthearse
I refuse to pay a subscription when they kompromise themselves to kapitalism.

The point of my post was to bring it to anyone's attention who may have one.

By the way, welcome to DU, uniden :hi:

BTW a subscription is not really required, just a sign in which you can use over and over and can even be completely bogus.

8. Subscription required for the last month or so
not just registration. The NYT has also stopped its affiliates putting the subscription articles on the net too. Some independent sites are copying them (I'm sure it's illegal, and it will be interesting to see how far the NYT will go in stopping or prosecuting them).
