Joshua Frank on Dem's Absence...
...from Anti-War Rally:

http://www.onlinejournal.com/Commentary/092705Frank/092705frank.html

-------snip--------

In all fairness, a few elected Democrats did show face, mainly two: Reps. John Conyers and Cynthia McKinney. But I wouldn't constitute either as party leaders. The better-known Democrats like Senators John Kerry and Hilary Clinton, two likely candidates for president in 2008, were nowhere to be seen. Even more striking were the abstinences of DNC Chairman Howard Dean, Russell Feingold and Ted Kennedy—all outspoken critics of the Iraq war.

Of course the Democrat's collective criticism only goes so far. They certainly don't want to be photographed with any crazy protestors. By God, that would taint their reputations! They've got campaign contributions to worry about here. No, the Democrats aren't about to take to the streets. They'd rather sit back and create the illusion that they care.

2. Boxer and Emanuel aren't our biggest problems, though.
Giving individually to candidates who will do something is good, though, if you don't want to give to the Senatorial and Congressional Campaign Committees.

6. Excellent suggestion, and it sends a message to the party leadership.
It is what I am doing.

3. I Would Really Like To Hear or See Their Justifications
for not participating in some form in the war protest/impeachment action.

Even if it were only tickets to Spamalot and a shoe sale at Ferragamos.

Could it be that the Democratic leadership is becoming, like Boy George, afraid of actual people?

Or if they are afraid of retribution from the Government, they should SAY SO! Ditto for MEDIA SMEARS!

4. Put a protest together that doesn't feature whackjobs, then criticize.

5. In Kerry's defense, he did meet with Cindy this week, and they had a great
meeting. She even put him on the hall of fame:)
