Link between cattle mutilations and infectious disease in US?
(I received this yesterday from a friend.)

What is the incidence of CJD or Jakob-Kreutzfeldt disease in America?

There are many problems in determining the number. I began to worry because of a story I heard today of a report in Nebraska about 1500 cattle that died because of a “heat wave.” The “heat wave” they were talking about was something like 10 days of over 90 degree temperatures. That isn’t any kind of heat wave that I’ve ever heard of. The dead animals will not be tested for BSE (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy) because the Agriculture department doesn’t require testing; it is only voluntary testing, and it is also against the ranchers interests. BSE has been shown to cause CJD in humans by eating infected meat.

In looking at this I found that there has been an ongoing problem of cattle being found dead and yet with organs removed as though some group was doing a secret testing program. It is entirely possible this is true, and after reading the evidence I am leaning that way; that some government agency is surreptitiously surveying the problem in secret and has for several years.

A third case of Mad Cow has been admitted to in the public today, yet the government will not say where the case was discovered. It must be kept a secret for some unknown reason.

Anyway to make a long story short, the number of “Mad Cow” disease or CJD in humans in America is likely to be in the range of 200,000 to 400,000 or more. This is based on a study of the percentage of misdiagnosed Alzheimer’s patients that were later proved to have CJD. Also the cases of Alzheimer’s and CJD are rising dramatically.

Prepare yourself for more cases of this because we are going through what the UK did a decade ago.

This is a very interesting and credible document that is well referenced. Although I haven’t been able to verify for myself that there are about 4 million Alzheimer’s patients in the US yet.

1. Read "Brain Trust" by Colm Kelleher .................
he discusses a possible connection between a small percentage of alleged cattle "mutilations" and the rise of prion diseases in the US, especially CWD in deer/elk. He thinks there is somebody doing covert testing to survey for BSE out in the field.

I cannot dismiss this out of hand. He may be onto something.

2. I think we have to take this as a possibility but not claim it probable
There aren't any whistleblowers coming out yet.

It does, however, provide an extremely plausible and compelling explanation for a very mysterious phenomenon. Hard evidence is needed.

3. The government and state agencies
automatically check deer and elk for CWD, so there is no reason for anyone to be doing covert testing on them.

4. Gee, is this urban legend back again?
It cycles every few years, so I guess it must be time.

Chupacabra, satanic cults, UFO's, black helicopters and now CJB... Did I leave anything out? All of these explanations has been put forth for an imagined issue.

According to The People's Almanac #3, a couple Arkansas state cops tried an experiment in which they left a dead cow in a field unattended. Within 33 hours, buzzards followed by blowflies had neatly disposed of the eyes, sex organs, and even the blood, leaving the appearance of "surgical precision" behind them.

Other studies have tended to support this scenario. In 1974, for instance, state veterinary labs investigating a rash of mutilation reports in Nebraska and South Dakota reported that every animal brought to them for examination had died of natural causes.

In 1975, Donald Flickinger was assigned by the U.S. Treasury Departments Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Division to study cult activity and the mutilations. Nothing came of his investigation, though, as his main informant was falsifying information to escape from jail. Black helicopters and a government issued blue bag (with artificial insemination gloves, bloody scalpel, cow ear and tongue) were found.

In 1979, the First Judicial District of New Mexico received $40,000 from the Federal Law Enforcement Assistance Administration to investigate mutilations. Former FBI agent Kenneth Rommel led the investigation and found that no evidence of mutilations was found. Rommel claimed the mutilations were a manufactured legend created by the media. Mute Evidence, written by Daniel Kagan and Ian summers, put the blame on UFO investigators.

Like the satanic ritual abuse legends (http://skepdic.com/satanrit.html) I suppose that dead cows have some deep hold on the human psyche and we'll be seeing it crop up (maybe a dead cow in crop circle?) again in a few years.

7. Maybe...
The chemtrails are to mark the positions of the dead cows for easy retrieval? You know, 'X' marks the spot?
