Typical LTE: Media will not come out the winner in this situation (Plame)
Anyone wondering why Dan Rather would try and pose phony documents as investigative journalism or Newsweek would try and convince the public that a Quran can be flushed down the toilet need only follow the partisan mainstream media's attack on Karl Rove.

Letters to this paper indicate that they have again succeeded in duping a section of the public.

The facts are slowly emerging. Joseph Wilson's wife, Valerie Plame, is no longer (and hasn't been for years) a super-secret CIA classified agent. In fact, all her friends and neighbors (and some journalists) knew she worked for the CIA. How did they know? She told them, outing herself.

Rove never approached the media about Plame; the media approached Rove and broached the question of why Vice President Dick Cheney could possibly have recommended Wilson.

Wilson had no Secret Service training. He was more likely to be mistaken for a 12-year-old boy who just got his secret decoder ring and magnifying glass out of a Cracker Jack box. The media were flummoxed as to why ferreting out the truth about Saddam Hussein's attempt to purchase uranium from Africa would be left to such a buffoon.

When the dust is settled, Rove will not be charged and the mainstream media will have lost even more of the American people's trust.

at college confidential(parent cafe) with two posters who at least post that this is what they hold to be true. They are dead set on this version.

Start at page 11, look at Strict11 and Driver's posts.

5. This guy is reciting Rush Limbaugh's talking points...
This entire shtick is Limbaugh's talking points.

It's as if this guy lifted Limbaugh's words from the radio and put them in print.

You gotta wonder how stupid someone can be. They write a letter to the editor--as if it's their own well-thought-out opinion--when really it's nothing more than regurgitated junk food from Limbaugh.

Either this guy is really ignorant, or the neocons have a LTTE campaign going on.

Today, Limbaugh hammered repeatedly on the media. I think he does this to intimidate them. He mentioned that the Plame situation is no different than the Rather situation. He droned on and on about how the media will be running from this story pretty soon--and that it will all come to light "the truth about Joe Wilson and his wife."

I guess the rightwingnuts are planning a big "We don't like Joe and his wife" campaign.

Limbaugh also said, "The Dems are doing what they did with Nixon. They hate Bush, like they hated Nixon and they're trying to drive him out. It won't happen. It's not going to happen. Not this time. They have conservative radio, unlike in the Nixon days when the wet-noodle Republicans caved and Nixon was gone."

Rush actually believes that he can save they day by spinning, screaming and lying. Crazy.

Rush also talked about the USSC situation. He mentioned that he's spoken on the phone a few times with Scalia and that Thomas is "a close, personal friend." What a farce. This lying, propagandist, truth distorter maintains close relationships with members of our Supreme Court. It's so revolting.

I know many probably don't want to hear anything about Limbaugh. However, I think he should not be ignored. I don't go out of my way to listen, but if I'm in the car with my kids, I tune in.

I think he should be monitored closely. If a rattlesnake slithered into my house, I wouldn't ignore it. I'd watch it's every move.

6. Aren't Rush's talking points actually Rove's?
The MSM actually printed the list of talking points a week or so ago.
