CNN: Christian adoption agency snubs Catholics
If dupe, please forgive.

Oh, look, the faith-based fauXian community's startin' to go at each other.

http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/07/15/adoption.church.ap/index.html

JACKSON, Mississippi (AP) -- A Christian adoption agency that receives money from Choose Life license plate fees said it does not place children with Roman Catholic couples because their religion conflicts with the agency's "Statement of Faith."

Bethany Christian Services stated the policy in a letter to a Jackson couple this month, and another Mississippi couple said they were rejected for the same reason last year.

"It has been our understanding that Catholicism does not agree with our Statement of Faith," Bethany's state director Karen Stewart wrote. "Our practice to not accept applications from Catholics was an effort to be good stewards of an adoptive applicant's time, money and emotional energy."

Love thy neighbor, hate their religion. They're all vile, vile sinners--probably homosexuals--and they're all going to Hell while you sit on God's hand (ewww), laughing and throwing rocks in your eternal self-righteous glory.

"Whaddaya want? We gotta discriminate on SOME basis--and all the other s**t's illegal. Big government persecuting Christians again."

7. Not much difference between a Fundie and a Taliban member,
Religious fundamentals of all sects just have to search out and attack those who differ from them in even superficial ways. Many Catholics feel plenty of contempt toward the born again X-tians, so I wouldn't shed too many tears over this slight.

3. I read this earler on DU. How can we get this out to all the Catholic
Churches? Can we email it to all of them? I think we have enough DUers in every state to be able to look in their phone books, and then find a contact on line to notify them all!

It really aggrivated me that the Catholics sided with the RW extremists in the last 2 elections, and this is a way to show them how wrong that was!

What do ya think?

6. It's been posted, but WTF.
This is an important story, and deserves to get lots of attention.

There are threads in LBN and GD already (at least one in each), but the more threads and posts, the more enlightened everyone is!

What's really funny is to see how the freepers are self-destructing over this. Seems some of the Christians there don't think Roman Catholics are Christians. Hey, they explain it soooooo much better than I could....

8. Freeper Logic
Before:

"Jews kilt Jeezus. They's evil. They control the media."

Recently:

"Iz-ray-el is our buddy in the Middle East--leastways until we kill all th' Ay-rabs. Until then, it's the Lib'ruls whut control the media, and the Romans done kilt Jeezus. (But Mallard Fillmore and Th' Passion O'Th' Christ quietly serve ta' remind us that the Jews is our true enemy.)"

Today:

"Roman Cath-o-lics? Well, there yew go. They's evil."

this country is totally tearing itself apart on the subject of who worships with the correct religion and the correct God!!! Who is going to be the one to decide these matters??

I was brought up as an Assoc Reformed Presbyterian(haven't gone in years due to the rampant hypocrisy in all organized religions) but it seems to me if these adoption agencies find a good home, with good people, It Should Not Matter What Freakin Religion They Are!!! They want to adopt a child--not add to the population-instead take in one who needs a good home.

These people are insane. It's hard enough to find good homes for most kids.

AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!! I can't stand any of them!!!! :grr:

11. Well...
In my experience with religion, my own being Mormon, born and raised until my ripe age of 18, i noticed a lot of inner bickering between religions. Baptists would hate on us, we would hate back on them, the Lutherans would hate on the Baptists, we would join in, but then the Lutherans would hate on us and etc etc etc..its nothing new to me to see this inner bickering between religions. That is what blows me away, when RW Religious nuts want creationsim taught in school, its just going to open a can of worms cause=The teacher is mormon, and i don't want him/her to teach it to me baptist kid, or my lutheran kid hates that catholic teacher who pushes the catholic version of creationsim etc etc..see my point?
