Foolish cut in Congress
Public radio, TV take a hard hit; Alaska's delegation should step up

<snip> No other state in the union relies on public radio and TV the way Alaska does. We are so vast and sparsely settled that huge parts of the state cannot be served by commercial broadcasts. And even where commercial stations operate, they could not afford the meaningful, local news and information public broadcasting supplies.

Alaska public broadcasting is a two-way street -- bringing in news and information from the great wide world, but also generating local news and commentary that tells the world about Alaska's unique people and environment. <snip>
