Carter Tried To Stop Bush's Energy Disasters - 35 Years Ago

n his recent news conference, George Bush Jr. suggested that our nation's "problem" with high gasoline prices was caused by the lack of a national energy policy, and tried to blame it all on Bill Clinton. First, Junior said, "This is a problem that's been a long time in coming. We haven't had an energy policy in this country."
This was followed by, "That's exactly what I've been saying to the American people -- 10 years ago if we'd had an energy strategy, we would be able to diversify away from foreign dependence. And -- but we haven't done that. And now we find ourselves in the fix we're in." As is so often the case, Bush was lying.

2. Good article
One of the jokes about this is, they probably would've passed Bush's Energy policy if he agreed to leave ANWR out of it. It's another thing he wanted to get done that his father never could. However, had we listened to George B I and drilled ANWR when he wanted to, it is likely that it would be tapped out now anyway and doubtful to have made any difference on anything.

3. I thought about this during his "press conferance"
And also thought we should be rubbing this into their faces, that it is their fault...and Kerry and Clark were both talking about expanding alternate sources and creating new jobs through that technology. But the Bushys want the high prices on the oil so they can clean up on what is left in the ground and in their reserves, which is where I think Iraqs oil is going...into Bushys reserve.

5. The DEMS, at the time, were busy thwarting Jimmy's agenda.
They don't want to talk about it.
