Christian Fascism along with Republican Theocracy
When will it become a law for us to attend church? Will there be a day when the Church guards come knocking at your door making sure you have attend Church? This new age of God this and God that scares the living Hell out of me. Lucky for me my parents didn't drink the Kool Aid and force me to go to church and be brain washed. The loudest part of our society right now is the Right Wing religious cult. The Right is trying to use the right to life angle in this Schivao case and the media as usually eats it up.
Am I the only one who is freaked out about this Country? To me the Christan right is hell bent on making this once great Country a Theocracy. How do we stop this out of control freight train of whack jobs? There needs to be one plan to defeat this movement that wants to turn our Country into a Theocracy. Let's come up with a plan here at DU, before we are thrown in jail for not going to Church.

1. If that ever happens...
... I'd bet that being a church guard would pay decently, and would be immune from foreign outsourcing.

Be yourself always. Find a way to win in any situation.

2. Go to the Universal Life Church
and have yourself ordained as a minister ($5) or more, declare your home a church belonging to your denomination and dare them to 'prove' you didn't attend services.

3. The day some state issued law tells me
I have to go to church, will be the day I finally cross over to gun ownership.

4. This combo has a name, "DOMINIONISM" and it is swiftly advancing
according to plans that have been in place for over 20 years. Dominionism is very real and constitutes a serious threat to American Democracy.

"Dr." James Dobson and other Fundamentalist Radical Clerics like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson are planning and executing a coup to gradually replace the free, secular democratic society of the United States with a Theocracy. This plan has been spelled out in detail by other radical clerics and is called "Dominionism".

It is critical that people become aware of the extreme agenda these people have for the United States and ultimately for the world. The results of the 2004 election were not a fluke or something that was drummed up over a period of months. It has been in planning for over 20 years, and what we are seeing now is, in the words of Katherine Yurica, "the swift advance of a planned coup".

The articles below are critical for understanding the Dominionist movement and for realizing how real and how detailed their plans are, and how far they have come toward achieving their goals.

8. The threat of Dominionism has to be brought to the fore...and people
Edited on Wed Mar-23-05 01:24 PM by BrklynLiberal
have to realize how real it is. This is not must some small sect.
This is a big threat to our government and our way of life.

This is Fascism in our time and in our country. It CAN HAPPEN HERE!!!
Contrary to the populist, rewritten history, the Calvinists did not come here to be free FROM persecution, but to be free TO persecute. The Salem witch trials, and many other instances show that this country was not founded on tolerance, but on intolerance, and we must fight to maintain tolerance.

"First they came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out.
Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists, but I was neither, so I did not speak out.
Then they came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew so I did not speak out.
And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me."

5. You are not alone
I have wondered many of these same thoughts.

I have regularly been labeled somewhat a weirdo for even pondering the concept, that scares me even more, because lots of people seem to feel that even discussing the possibility makes me a traitor to my country or my faith.

When did thinking become evil , anyway

As for the "plan" you requested, well my humble opinion is we have to continue to not only expose the Christian Right's hypocrisy but also to counter it undeniable honesty in deed and word.

Is that possible in politics ? Or is that just that idealist in me sneaking out.
:hippie:
