Welcome to BushWorld

Quote

"Who controls the past controls the future: who controls the present controls the past."

Words from Orwell's 1984, and they cut straight to the heart of Big Brother's power. Information manipulation is the most insidious -- and the most potent -- form of control because it is the most difficult to detect and undo. Rewrite "the truth" and you rewrite history ... and in rewriting history, you steer the future. We find ourselves today living in a bizarre media vacuum of a country, run by a deluded boy king who personifies Big Brother's maxims: war is peace, freedom is slavery, and ignorance is strength.

SNIP

There is a total lack of accountability in this administration. What makes this possible is the administration's flat refusal to give a damn about reality, coupled with an American populace largely too ignorant and feeble-minded to know better.

SNIP

They plaster yellow ribbons and star-spangled W's all over their SUVs in a desperate bid to be part of a group, to show loyalty, subscribing to a reality so warped that we are expected to find peace through war, freedom through slavery, and strength in ignorance.

2. Well, of course. Look how they continue to smear Clinton
As long as they can convince Americans that he did nothing for 8 years except get a blow job and lie to Congress--in between firing all those helpless Travel office people and stonewall on Whitewater--they can continue to hold Bush up as a shining example of a great leader. Clinton's peace efforts in Ireland, the Middle East, etc? They'd have happened anyways. The great economy? It was the tech bubble combined with Republican caps on spending.

No, the 90's were a time of wasteful self-indulgence and lack of preparedness for 9/11, so Thank God We Have George Bush To Save Us instead of Clinton or Gore or any of those other dreadful liberals. The 90's were the bad time, not the past 5 years. We've never had such good, Christian leadership. Things are only getting better. Drink the Kool-Aid. Go back to sleep.
