ENVIRO – BAKER CHIDES BUSH ON GLOBAL WARMING: Former Secretary of State James Baker "broke ranks with the Bush administration on Thursday and called for the United States to get serious about global warming." Baker told an audience that included a number of oil executives, "It may surprise you a little bit, but maybe it's because I'm a hunter and a fisherman, but I think we need to a pay a little more attention to what we need to do to protect our environment.…When you have energy companies like Shell and British Petroleum…saying there is a problem with excess carbon dioxide emission, I think we ought to listen." Reversing an explicit campaign pledge in 2000, President Bush has opposed mandatory limits on carbon dioxide, and the White House refused to sign the international Kyoto treaty to combat global warming. Over the weekend, Lord Robert May, the president of Britain's National Academy of Sciences, called Bush "a modern day Nero over climate change, fiddling while the world burns."

1. And the Dems AGAIN miss the boat on tying hunting to the environment.
Why is Baker making the connection? Why can't our Dem leaders making this connection to woo the gun nuts who happen to hunt, and happen to vote Red to our side? This seems like a head slapper to me?

3. Many of the Dems
did make this point, that if you are a fisherman or hunter, you shouldn't be backing Bush the environmental destroyer...Kerry said it many times as did Robert Kennedy and many others....it just doesn't get into the mainstream press...Gee, I wonder, why?

2. When Baker says this, we are looking at eco-catastrophes very soon!

Wow, what a leading indicator, the guy who helped him steal FL and the Presidency. Things must be totally over the top. Remember that the GHWB crew was way out front on the bad idea of Iraq, and that turned into a disaster. Now its the environment. Must be looking at some really bad stuff soon. Baker, thanks for screwing the entire f'ing world by putting this sociopath in power. We really appreciate it!

4. HAH! Look for him to sell hydrogen fuel, and not the kind made in the
greenest manner either. Bet ya dollars to donuts it is a marketing ploy! We knew the bastards wouldn't acknowledge global warming and peak oil till they had their ducks in line to cash in on the change over to other fuels. We could have been well down the road to the solution but for their lock on information to give themselves time to shore up their financial interests for the coming changes.

Bastards. So many die and so many will be impoverished for their greed and lies.

This is a scam of some sort. Guys like Baker measure their words VERY carefully.
