Hunter S. Thompson: Prose laureate of Paranoia
Good read, plus a video link:

Thompson was stalked by doom
but his writing was beacon of truth

By Henry Allen
The Washington Post
Updated: 11:47 a.m. ET Feb. 22, 2005

From Hunter S. Thompson’s “Songs of the Doomed — More Notes on the Death of the American Dream”:

“It has been raining a lot recently. Quick thunderstorms and flash floods ... lightning at night and fear in the afternoon. People are worried about electricity.

“Nobody feels safe. Fires burst out on dry hillsides, raging out of control, while dope fiends dance in the rancid smoke and animals gnaw each other. Foreigners are everywhere, carrying pistols and bags of money. There are rumors about murder and treachery and women with no pulse. Crime is rampant and even children are losing their will to live.

“The phones go dead and power lines collapse, whole families plunged into darkness with no warning at all. People who used to be in charge walk around wall-eyed, with their hair standing straight up on end, looking like they work for Don King, and babbling distractedly about their hearts humming like stun guns and trying to leap out of their bodies like animals trapped in bags.”

He wrote this in Washington, in 1989.

1. From another post ...
and I read it in The Franklin Cover-Up page 105 and can verify it's direct quote from the book:

In other testimony Bonacci said that Larry King was smiling and laughing the whole time the film was being shown, and that "the men with the hoods" were a Satanic group which planned to use the dead boy in some sort of ceremony. He also named the director of the snuff film, whom they had picked up in Las Vegas, as "Hunter Thompson."

I'm not sorry to see this scum go to his deserved place.

3. Get Real...
You mean this Paul? The child molestor?

Don't believe everything you read... everything you read is not necessarily true.

Not long after the Franklin case became public in 1989, Paul Bonacci was arrested and sentenced to five years in prison for briefly touching a young boy on the outside of his pants. Bonacci has been diagnosed by at least three psychiatrists with Multiple Personality Disorder, a psychiatric disorder now called Dissociative Identity Disorder...

Here's another "Hunter Thompson"

Hunter Thompson kidnapping case remains under investigation

Anderson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Jonathan Craig Marcy, 31, at approximately 12:30 p.m. last Thursday, March 25, at a home at 108 Academy Street in Williamston, in connection with the abduction of Hunter Thompson, an Anderson County boy who disappeared March 22 from an Anderson Kmart.

According to Captain Dale McCard of the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Marcy was renting the home and had been in the Williamston area since October, 2003. Marcy had no prior record that authorities knew of and he lived by himself.

A bond hearing has been set for 2 p.m. Monday April 5, authorities said Wednesday.
