State (NH) approves Presidential recount for Nader (It's on!)

CONCORD (AP) State election officials agreed yesterday to a last-minute recount of the Presidential race requested by Ralph Nader.

Nader asked for a recount in 11 wards last week, but the state initially said no because his request did not include the $2,000 fee. He had until 4:30 p.m. yesterday to get the money to the Secretary of State's Office.

The fee is required of candidates who lose by more than 3 percentage points. Democrat John Kerry won the state with 50 percent to Bush's 49 percent. Nader had just under 1 percent.

The state agreed to the recount after Nader's campaign electronically transferred the fee yesterday afternoon.
