Scientists: contamination leading to abnormalities
There are recent signs that chemicals in Taiwan's increasingly polluted environment may disrupt endocrine systems in human and wildlife populations, researchers said yesterday.

At an international conference on environmental hormones and what's known as "persistent organic pollutants," Lee Ching-chang (§õ«T¼ý), director of the Research Center for Environmental Trace Toxic Substances at National Cheng Kung University, reported his investigation on the levels and spatial distribution of toxic chemicals in 21 main rivers, four international harbors and 17 fishing ports in the country.

"We found that levels of total mercury in the sediment and fish samples of two rivers were higher than the rest. The sources have yet to be identified," Lee said.

Better send Neil 'Slut' Bush to go slap these Taiwanese up the head. More reports like this coming out of Taibei they're going to find Chen has become Saddam's brother.

1. Wrote a paper about this a few years ago -- it's real and it's insidious.
Not just Taiwan -- we've got plenty of homegrown contamination right here in River City so to speak.

2. That's the "arms race" bush wants to WIN!! Frogs & fish w/ 12 arms!!
It's the same way bush did Texas....it became the #1 most polluted state in the union after george bush was finished w/ his governorship. He wants to make sure the rest of the country gets their shot at it, too!

Hey fundies: Hell...it's on earth. It's massiah's name is george w. bush.

3. Don't these yo-yos ever think that

the pollution they're so hot to allow could harm them personally? Are they so able to avoid environmental pollution?

5. Wealth fixes all their problems
For years one of the arguments for us to believe the polluters is that they care about their own families.

Something I have learned is that they are under the impression they can buy their way out of most problems, or they can afford to avoid polluted places.

We have a doctor in Seattle who testifies against people injured by chemicals (he says there is no such thing for huge money). For his retirement home he selected a piece of property he calculated escaped pollution. He studies pollution sources and wind currents.

Another doctor who testifies in the same vein selected the mountains of Colorado and build a chemically safe house.

6. Was it on 'Countdown' the other night, or maybe 'The Daily Show'..
... where they showed a frog w/ a 5th leg, jutting out at about 2 O'Clock... (at about a 45 degree angle from its shoulder).

Anybody have a link to that story/report from a number of weeks ago talking about the diminishing number of amphibians/frogs?

7. Ah, it was Wednesday's 'Countdown'...
Of course, Bush would somehow try to spin this as good for the frog... or for the "frog legs" industry.
