WASHINGTON (AP) - The federal government will lower the terror alert status from orange to yellow for financial institutions in New York, New Jersey and Washington, The Associated Press has learned.

The reduction to the midpoint on the government's five-level terror warning system comes three months after the alert was raised amid concerns the institutions could be al-Qaida targets.

They set up road blocks all around the capitol, obstructing traffic on major city thoroughfares and requiring capitol police officers to workk 12 hours a day all without asking the City government or Congress -- who pays the bills for the Cap Police. And does anybody actually think that the Members of Congress were "safer" with exhausted officers watching x-ray monitors 12 hours a day? Not.

I highly recommend this new documentary that the BBC had the guts to air recently. It's called "The Power of Nightmares" and is in 3 parts -- an hour each. It shows parallels between the neocons and the Islamic militants such as Osama bin Laden -- and, it totally debunks the supposed vast al-Qaida network that has been the premise behind the "war on terror" ever since 9/11.
