Omaha 6 News: Countinghouse Blues: Too Many Votes
MORE OF THIS SHIT!

"Sarpy County election officials are trying to figure out how they ended up with more votes than voters in the general election. As many as 10,000 extra votes have been tallied and candidates are still waiting for corrected totals.

Johnny Boykin lost his bid to be on the Papillion City Council. The difference between victory and defeat in the race was 127 votes.

Boykin says, "When I went in to work the next day and saw that 3,342 people had shown up to vote in our war, I thought something's not right."

He's right. There are not even 3,000 people registered to vote in his ward.

For some reason, some votes were counted twice."

3. How many "extra votes" does this make now?
I am sure I have seen at least half a dozen stories like this, quoting everything from 5000 to 90000 votes - Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, New Mexico, now Nebraska. And nobody is even looking very hard yet.

10. I'll be at the Great Plains Democratic Meet-Up tomorrow.
I will be interested to know if we will be addressing the "hand-recount" issue in our state.

When Hagel was elected, Hoppner, his opponent, requested a hand recount. Nebraska law requires recounts to be conducted using the original counting method. If the machine counted them the first time, the machine counts them the second time.

We need a voter initiative to make this problem go away. We don't have to be Red forever.

11. Mandate... 110K x 31 states = 4.31 million
Edited on Sat Nov-13-04 04:47 AM by SoCalDem
a little here a little there... 110K is probably not possible in ALL states, but in Texas and NJ (does any sane person really think he really got that many votes in NJ?) and a few other safe" places, the difference is made up..

As long as he got the EV edge, they knew that people would not recount a state over the TOTALS..

1. He had to win
2. He had to have big numbers
3. Polls showed him lagging
4. They were desperate and sloppy
5. That's why the numbers are just plain wacky..
