Reverend Jerry Falwell Planning an 'Evangelical Revolution'
Edited on Wed Nov-10-04 11:16 AM by damkira
CNSNews.com) - The Rev. Jerry Falwell is launching a new organization called The Faith and Values Coalition, which he describes as a "21st century resurrection of the Moral Majority."

The new coalition will lobby for pro-life judicial appointments; a federal amendment barring same-sex marriage; and the election of another conservative president in 2008.

Falwell, now 71, said he would serve as national chairman of the new coalition for four years.

Progressive Values are Moral Values.
They've hi-jacked the language. We MUST take it back. We know who the truly moral are.

19. This is something that I have been obsessing on lately...
Why do the most evil, hateful, corrupt, muderous bastards live to ripe old ages, while those who do good in the world and set examples of tolerance and love seem to die early?

And then I thought, maybe we ARE ALREADY in hell!

Apart from that, can't think of any good examples, sigh.

After they get gambling out of the way, then they'll go after clothes. Modesty requirements.

After that, precise requirements for movies and books.

No dancing! No swearing. No gum-chewing. Of course no drugs, no cigarettes, cigars.

No mixed bathing. Sex segregated classrooms. ETC. There will ALWAYS be a new frontier for Jerry's people.

How quaint - a bunch of self-righteous peasants with pitchforks and torches.

Well, here's the answer: we form our own faith and values coalition. Don't let them define either faith or values. We'll call it the 21st century resurrection of the rational majority.

All the funds for welfare will be directed through the church
That will help them build their membership rolls as it will be a requirement that to get welfare you must:
- Attend the church responsible for the funds
- Must plan to get married in set amount of time.
- Children will attend the church school (allows church to get the voucher funds also)
- This will allow them to fill more minds with the holier than though mind melting and direct their votes in future elections.

28. the "moderates" who voted for Bush
need to start paying attention. Falwell and the Rev. Sun Moon are reaping the Bushie benefits. How can a person say they're pro-choice, pro-environment, pro-equal rights, fiscally conservative, and believe in separation of church and state and vote Republican? The fundies are lost. Write them off. It's the insidiousness of the "moderates" who shock me. They must be liars. You can not support any of the above and vote Republican. At least the fundies are honest.

51. None of the fundies...
seem to know of the Moon connection to Falwell.

Quick version: Fallwell's "university" was going broke, and Moon funded him. The money was funneled thru Beverly LeHay.. wife of the end-times book dude.

I told this to my semi-fundie sister in law, and her head nearly exploded.

59. Why hasn't the Moon connection to Bush
been more of a story? Cause it's a doozy. Moon was crowned, literally, the Messiah on Capitol Hill in March in a room reserved by John Warner. The Bush family has received millions in speaking fees from Moon. He owns the AP and the Washington Times, GWB's favorite newspaper. The fundies should really be aware of the Bush-Moon connection. I think Moon is one of the reasons Pat Robertson is getting his panties in a twist with GWB. He's afraid his slice of the pie is going to Moon. Too many con men trying to split up the Bush largesse.
They'll be fighting like jackals during this administration. Let the games begin.

61. Gotta let the fundies know these cons are in league with blasphemer Moon.

That's what I'm thinking, these false prophets won't tell their deceived followers, not will the media, so we have to. There must be ways, e.g. maybe signs outside fundie churches. Maybe show them this picture:

with some explanation of just who Moon is and what he is doing, e.g. his 'take down the crosses' campaign.

The resulting cognitive dissonance, egads!

It is sacriledge to go to /watch NASCAR on Sunday. Falwell should be crucified on the hood of Dale Earnhadt Jr.s car in the infield at Daytona. Along with Oral Roberts and the rest of their meddling ilk. Then burn the pits. All that rubber and high octane should burn well.

43. This will be interesting to watch
They are pushing too hard, too fast. I believe their movement will suffer for it.

46. Why not just declare all-out war on these KKKristian "insurgents"???
If Shrub can get away with it in Iraq...

Falwell's headquarters and financial empire could be our Fallujah.

55. I guess sale of the "Clinton Chronicles" must have tanked after 2000.
Edited on Wed Nov-10-04 04:36 PM by yellowcanine
And Kerry didn't get elected president so no money will be made off of slanderous videos about him.

So now the "rev" needs another way to separate his followers from their money.

Is this guy a slime ball or what?

56. Televangelists= The Pro-Wrestlers of Religion
They're so cute when they're righteous but the ability to reason is of no use to a "true believer". Too bad there isn't an effective treatment for stupidity.

65. No we know what defeated John Kerry
Family Association; Dr. D. James Kennedy of Coral Ridge Ministries, Dr. John Hagee of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio; the many leaders of the Arlington Group; the "upstart, alternative" Internet news sites; and more than 225,000 evangelical pastors.

Do a google on John Hagee.

88. The weekend before the election
The weekend before the election I was watching the fundie channels on satellite because they always have some hilarious crap on about the evils of Halloween during that time of year. Not this year, it was CONSTANT "go vote" "why you should vote". They were very careful not to come right out and say vote for the chimp or vote against Kerry but every last one of those wack ass preachers was screaming about America was going to hell and this election was a chance for them to "save" it.

Scared the shit out of me. I guess it should have considering what happened.

77. That's right!
COME ON JERRY! Push it full force! Embrace the total nightmare! Go for it! Make divorce illegal! Make male masturbation illegal (spilling the seed and all)! Create an American Taliban! Tear this puppy up so that all the dipshits who voted for bush can see the FULL effect of what they rubber stamped!

I say the sooner the better, go whole hog Falwell. Spark that revolution and backlash!

Where's my popcorn?

Oh and everyone? Please team up with your gay brothers and sisters. They are going to need us. Hand them a gun or two, ok?

94. Yes, we want shellfish and pork BBQ banned
We want stoning of unruly children.

We want priests to examine our homes for mildew ( kill two birds to clean the mildew).

We want the Year of the Jubilee, where every seven years all debt is forgiven and all fields lie fallow.

WE want men to go back to the punishment for Adam . Adam was supposed to earn his living by the sweat of his brow, not scarfing donuts in a suit in some air-conditioned office.

BRING BACK ALL THE OLD TESTAMENT LAWS! We'll see how fast the "faithful" drop from that program....

Preach long & loud so everyone who voted for Bush will know exactly what they've gotten into bed with. Hope he gets lots of coverage.

Of course, some of the Christian Reconstructionists are even scarier.

People like Jerry Fallwell, Pat Robertson, Roy Moore (The 10 Commandments Judge) and Fred Phelps (godhatesfags.com) are gifts to us.. In the eyes of thinking people, they make fundies look ridiculous.

96. that's if he can find leaders who aren't as immoral as the ones
who were in the 'moral' majority of the 80's...

if they'd stop their whoremongering, adultery and lying long enough to act like they've heard of christianity and christian morals, then perhaps he'd have half a chance...

but they all fall short because their pride won't let them do otherwise...

besides, let them get this thing going and Larry Flynt will have a 300 page expose on their lecherousness---take the wind right out of their sails.
