Iran Says It Can Mass-Produce Missiles

TEHRAN, Iran -- Iran said Tuesday it can mass produce a missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead and reaching Israel and U.S. forces in the Middle East.

"We have reached a point in the field of producing the Shahab-3 missile that we are able to mass produce," Defense Minister Ali Shamkhani told state-run television Tuesday.

TEHRAN (MNA) -- Commenting on the possibility of a U.S. and Israeli attack on Iran, Defense Minister Ali Shamkhani said here on Tuesday that no country can Iraqize Iran, adding that no such incident would happen because if it did, the attacker would experience more loss than gain.

Speaking to reporters at the inauguration ceremony of the Defense Ministry Managers Bureau, he stated that Iran can mass-produce Shahab-3 ballistic missiles just like it mass-produces the national car, the Paykan.

“Our capabilities are indigenous and permanent and in accordance with the needs of the Armed Forces, and there is no limitation on the mass production of missiles except for the needs of the Armed Forces,” Shamkhani added.

Asked if Iran plans to produce a ballistic missile with a range of 4,000 kilometers, Shamkhani said that such claims are part of the Zionist propaganda campaign meant to give the impression that Iran seeks to threaten Europe, adding that Iran sees no threat from Europe.
