Militants Attack 2 Churches, Hospital in Baghdad, Killing at Least 6 People
http://ap.tbo.com/ap/breaking/MGBL8KP3B1E.html

<snip>The first went off near the St. Georges Church, the U.S. military said. Witnesses reported that 18 people were slightly injured in the explosion, which ripped a huge crater in the ground. The burned out remains of a car were seen nearby.

Armed men in several cars approached the church from every direction, said a neighbor who only identified himself as Qusai. "They were wearing police uniforms and asked us to leave the area. We saw them approach the church's door ... (then) we heard an explosion," he said.

The second car bomb detonated minutes later, less than a mile away, outside the St. Matthew Church, killing three people and wounding 34, said a policeman on the scene who declined to give his name.

Church guard Khalaf Enad, 40, said he saw a group of masked men driving up in a pickup truck in front of the church.

"They were all armed. They quickly poured out of the car ... opened fire for over a minute and then I heard a big explosion," he said.

more...Saddam was a true a-hole, but I wonder how long the guys who blew up 2 churches in his Iraq would be breathing? Couple hours maybe if they were lucky?

2. Insurgents blow up churches, U.S. blows up hospitals
I'd have to say the U.S. is the greater of the two evils here.

3. they blow up churches, we blow up towns
that include religious institutions and hospitals. It's never going to end until all of Iraq is rubble....which shouldn't be too long now. :eyes:

BTW this was making big news on all the RW radio here in Houston when I picked my daughter up from pre-school. Nothing about the previous bombings of hospitals mentioned.

4. It's on our radio here, too...
but they didn't say our troops blew up the hospital, just "took it over".
