8. I heard the boy interviewed on Mike Malloy
and THEN heard that he was 14(hadn't had the voice change yet) which is why Malloy didn't realize the kid was so young.

That was one very smart kid -- his parents must be proud!

I also heard another young man (14) interviewed by Mike Webb -- and then I checked out this kids website-- he was more knowledgeable about the election and issues and the implications for the future than the vast majority of adults in this country.

7. The ultimate irony would be for Ralph

to demand and receive a recount in Florida...

Wasn't it the chimps's brother who insisted he be included on the ballot there? Sweet irony... hehehe...

22. Despite all of the predictions
before the election, I don't believe that Nader cost Kerry anything in this election. As far as I can tell, even if all the Nader people voted for Kerry, he wouldn't have picked up any EV's and still would have fallen just short on the popular vote. Considering that at least some Nader voters would have probably stayed home instead of voting for Kerry, I don't see what the big deal was about him running. This recount may be the only impact that Nader had on 2004, and since most people seem to agree that this is a good thing, in the long run, wasn't it good that he ran? I'm not a Nader fan, by any means, but I don't have an issue with a third party canidate running in hopes of pushing their issues into the general election discussion.

28. No, Nader didn't
cost Kerry anything in this election.

It was the criminal Bush Cartel who more than likely committed election fraud.

Congratulations to all, and a special toast to Ida and hedda_foil:

with ensuring a fair vote with a paper trail next election.

20. So be it. All the more reason to question the election machinery. It
will hopefully lead to other recounts. More importantly it may help reclaim the democratic fundemental of clean, fair elections before 2006. I think the motivations move well beyond a Kerry win. Personally, I'm hoping for criminal charges. As I tell my Repub friends, Nixon was re-elected too ya know.

23. Precedent setting for the other states in question ...
Nader can pretty much now question the other states he was on the ballot in, ie FLORIDA ... and the Libertarian and Green Candidates can officially petition for recounts in Ohio, New Mexico etc ...

The whole can of worms can be re-opened.

25. It's also a chance to get an "in depth" look at
voting issues. By picking a relatively small state, I should be easier to determine if the voting was "skewed" to benefit a canidate. If it was, then this can be an issue we can take to other states. I'm sure that this won't change the results of this election, but hopefully, we can put something in place to make sure that a party can't F with the election next time.

Edited on Tue Nov-09-04 01:30 AM by Amigust
fair as long as Repubs hold all the political cards? Our ONLY hope at all is to turn THIS election around, not the next one.

This second fraudulent election will remain unchanged ONLY because enough people are willing to take still more up the a__, without kisses or lube. At what point do we finally say en masse "NO MORE !!! THIS WILL NOT STAND !!!"

Screw me over once, you're the fool. Screw me over twice, I'm the fool. Who's up for thirds?

24. yup
that was my point. I guess it somehow serves the cause of righteousness though. Now we we will see if the other states he challenges are red or blue.
Nader vindicated? Do you believe that?

33. Since Nader Was On The Ballot
in NH he can question the election.

NH uses several types of voting...paper ballot, Diebold and Opti-Scan - the ones that seem to be causing the trouble because they have no paper trail.

If Nader can prove a problem or fraud with these two machines, it opens up all the other states with these machines, specifically Ohio and Florida.

This little adventure gets our foot in the door so to speak.
