Cheney Makes a Quick Stop in Hawaii Four Electoral Votes at Stake
just for the electoral votes?? am I missing something here?

HONOLULU, Hawaii (Oct. 31) -- Vice President Cheney flew all night to say aloha to Hawaiians and make a last-minute pitch for their four electoral votes, the first time since 1960 that anyone on a presidential ticket spared the time and money to campaign in the distant island state.

"I was in the neighborhood and I thought I'd stop by and say aloha," a lei-draped Cheney told thousands gathered in the Honolulu Convention Center on a stage lush with ginger plants and exotic flowers. He was welcomed by drummers and dancers tossing flaming batons.

6. i dont get this one
they must have some reason. publicity, getting ChainSaw with his 25% popularity out of the way, who knows?
i cant imagine that there is any way they will win hawaii, whatever that goofy poll says. gore won it by 18 points. what could possibly happened there that could change the demo that much and overcome the democratic energy this year to boot.

7. Waste of Time ...
Either that or they don't want Cheney to scare off any voters in a state they think they might be able to win.

9. They pulled this same stunt last time
The last campaign day in 2000, Bush and Cheney went to California and New Jersey to carry out the "we're so far ahead, we can afford to visit states we know we'll lose" meme, which the news chuckleheads dutifully reported and parroted.

It's a stunt, and this time it will cost them.

10. There is no such thing as a "quick stop" in hawaii
This just cost him the chance to visit 4 swing states in the last 36 hours of the election. No offense to those in Hawaii but this is stupid of Rove tactically unless they have determined that Cheney is just a huge liability in this election and they wanted to make him less visible.

11. Stupid fuckhead.
This is a ploy to try and get either Kerry or Edwards out to Hawaii. This will eliminate them frmo getting a last minute campaign push on the mainland and securing the victory.

More fucked up tactics from Shitstain Rove.

14. Do we pay for all this transportation of Bush/Cheney?
Who pays for Kerry/Edwards? I hope they get equal treatment, but somehow I doubt it.
