U.S. Deploys Satellite Jamming System

Sun Oct 31, 7:44 AM ET Science - Reuters

By Jim Wolf

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Air Force quietly has put into service a new weapon designed to jam enemy satellite communications, a significant step toward U.S. control of space.

The so-called Counter Communications System was declared operational late last month at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, the Air Force Space Command said on Friday in e-mailed replies to questions from Reuters.

Citing "operational security" concerns, military officials declined to discuss how the jammer worked but equated it with traditional Air Force electronic warfare weapons that have been used since World War 2 to deceive, disrupt, deny, degrade or destroy targets.

This will give the Russians and China a run for their money!!!

1. Jamming satellites is somewhat the equivalent of overwhelming
Anti Ballistic Missile(ABM) systems with targets. The Red Chinese (supported by the hundreds of millions of Americans who spend their money at WalMart) and others could easily do the same. So if all satellite communications are jammed, who has the advantage?

2. And when they turn this on us?
Think about it for a minute...does any one understand
the implications of this technology and how it could be
used on us?
We are a society that has become totally dependent
on technology. What an effective way to control us
in the future...think they won't? I don't.

7. These are nightmare weapons
The US military can now isolate most anything, anywhere in America and who knows where else! Image if they need to "Quarantine" an area that was...oh...let's say declared a sight that has been attacked by a terrorist. They shut down all modern communications (bye bye cell phone, and the local power grid). Who is gonna know? At least not for awhile (long enough for them to do whatever the fuck they want to). Just IMAGINE...Bush able to do whatever the fuck he wants to!

Wait...he can already do that. :(

8. Rex hits nail squarely on the head.
The grids are now poised to attack us.
Literally, we are surrounded by electro-magentic "nets"
that they are in complete control of.

"AN APPRAISAL OF THE TECHNOLOGY OF
POLITICAL CONTROL

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The objectives of this report are fourfold: (i) to provide Members of
the European Parliament with a guide to recent advances in the
technology of political control; (ii) to identify. analyze and
describe the current state of the art of the most salient
developments; (iii) to present members with an account of
current trends, both in Europe and Worldwide; and (iv) to develop
policy recommendations covering regulatory strategies for their
management and future control. The report includes a large
selection of illustrations to provide Members of Parliament with a
good idea of the scope of current technology together with a
representative flavour of what lies on the horizon. The report
contains seven substantive sections, which can be summarised as
follows:

THE ROLE & FUNCTION OF POLITICAL CONTROL
TECHNOLOGIES

This section takes into account the multi-functionality of much of
this technology and its role in yielding an extension of the scope,
efficiency and growth of policing power. It identifies the
continuum of control which stretches from modem law
enforcement to advanced state suppression, the difference
being the level of democratic accountability in the manner in
which such technologies are applied.

RECENT TRENDS & INNOVATIONS

Taking into account the problems of regulation and control and
the potential possessed by some of these technologies to
undermine international human rights legislation, the section
examines recent trends and innovations. This section covers the
trend towards militarisation of the police technologies and the
paramilitarisation of military technologies with an overall
technological and decision drift towards worldwide convergence
of nearly all the technologies of political control. Specific
advances in area denial, identity recognition, surveillance systems
based on neural networks, discreet order vehicles, new arrest and
restraint methods and the emergence of so called 'less lethal
weapons' are presented. The section also looks at a darker side of
technological development including the rise of more powerful
restraint, torture, killing and execution technologies and the role
of privatised enterprises in promoting it."

Lovely huh?
And we thought the issues were gay marriage and abortion...

6. Read the link I posted above
if you WANT to know just how vunerable we
are in our dependence of technology.
It is not light reading, but VERY important to comprehend
in regards to the future.
They own and control EVERY aspect of our lives
through satellites.
Not a thought I am very comfortable with given
WHO they are and how little they are concerned
about us.
