While the rock-ribbed-republican Columbus Dispatch endorsed Bush*last Sunday, Columbus' Suburban News Publications...which publishes over two dozen inter-city and suburban weekly papers in the Columbus area... has taken the extraordinary and unprecedented step of issuing a FRONT PAGE endorsement of John Kerry for it's 287,051 (now contented) readers.
In case you're interested, the Suburban News Publications' circulation is greater than the 259,127 daily circulation of the Dispatch.

Suburban News Publications has never made a Presidential endorsement. Our 22 community newspapers do not regularly cover national politics, and we have always considered it more important to offer readers our opinions on Central Ohio candidates and issues.
This year is different. The stakes in next week's Presidential election are so high, and the contrast between the candidates is so stark, that we cannot in good conscience keep silent. SNP strongly endorses Sen. John Kerry for President and urges voters to support him on Nov. 2.
By almost every measure, the administration of President George W. Bush has become a disaster. Since he effectively rallied the nation following the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, Bush has made one wrong decision after another.

Ouch!
Read the whole article...they pull no punches.
In the end it looks like Kerry...and not Bush... got the gem of central Ohio newspaper endorsements.
Oh...and just by the way...word on the street is that the Dispatch editorial board voted 5 - 0 to endorse Kerry. Alas, they were overruled by the now infamous Wolf Family owners/publishers.
