Muslim scholars arrested in Iraq
Seen this in two places now ...

US forces in Iraq have arrested a number of members of the Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq after their participation in a conference calling for boycotting Iraqi elections.

The head of the Association of Muslim Scholars (AMS) office in Kubeisa in western Iraq was arrested along with four other members. They were on their way back from Baghdad when US forces stopped their convoy and arrested them.

The AMS had organised the gathering in Baghdad on Wednesday to discuss the US military offensive against Falluja and other Iraqi towns.

Dozens of Iraqi Muslim scholars and clerics attended Wednesday's meeting, which they said was held at the request of residents of Falluja.

1. Arresting people for political crimes is not stuff the US should do.
But obviously that's not stopping anyone.

3. Well, we certainly have liberated them, haven't we?
And to think 50% of America still think the person responsible for this sham is okay. What an unbelievable nightmare.

6. JUST like Hitler-
Hitler made a clean sweep of ALL critical thinkers
who did not agree with his doctrine or challenged
the citizens to consider it past the rah-rah rubber stamping
crowd.
This is such a shameful act on the part of our governement.
Discussion and debate about voting in a puppet election
is a CRIME? How long before the same is true here in
'murikkka?
What we do to one, we do to all.
Oh wait, I forgot, 'murikkans are 'special.'
Wait and see, wait and see, good people of 'murikkka.

7. So in what possible scenario can awol be seen as a strong leader
in terrorism. All I see are gaffes as far as the eye can see.

I think shrub misunderstood "Give me liberty or give me death."

10. Boycotting elections has to be a political choice
They could just advise people to spoil their ballots I guess. But voting with your feet is a time honored expression as well.
