Scripps Survey Research Center: Kerry Leads by 5%

John Kerry leads George Bush 50-45 percent of nation-wide RV's according to a poll conducted 10/3-13 by the Scripps Survey Research Center at Ohio University.

Here's the link to the poll report itself: http://www.newspolls.org/story.php?story_id=33

Short story: Kerry leads by 5 in the sample of all registered voters. Only if they restrict their sample to those who say they are absolutely positively going to vote does Bush gain a (small) lead.

Everybody, we all know that this is not going to be a low turnout election.

7. They will try anything
to "retain power," including vote stealing or some "terrorist threat" on November 1 or 2. Maybe this is why the corporate media rushed the Freeper-skewed Zogby poll to their the top of their "news stories" (and I do mean stories).

20. Remember one of Bush's aides said he's an alien, which means he'll
declare Martian Law.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

16. Overall, I tend to agree, at least at this stage of the race
But this forum was crying out for something to "balance" all the undue attention the recent Zogby poll is getting.

And it is also a great demonstration of how get-out-the-vote efforts can win this thing for us in a near-landslide.

11. This is exactly what I've been thinking
That these polls do not include those who have not voted in the past. But people will vote this time. Kerry is going to win. And I don't think it's going to be as close as everyone is predicting. Good story from my alma mater :)

13. This indicates to me they will try to keep it the tone low and boring
and try to make others forget their is election going on. Bigger stories will give way to fluff and everything is being put off till after Nov. 2. Two and half weeks is a long time in todays fast paced world.
