Coast Guard boards Tiger's honeymoon yacht (afoul Homeland Security)
http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/10/14/woods.yatch/index.html

A secluded honeymoon cruise in the Caribbean for newlyweds Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren got unexpectedly crowded when armed officers of the Coast Guard boarded the couple's new mega-yacht Privacy.

Coast Guard officials say the yacht, reportedly a wedding gift from the champion golfer, ran afoul of a law intended to ensure U.S. homeland security.

U.S. Coast Guard officials told CNN the yacht docked in San Juan Harbor Thursday without notifying authorities it was entering San Juan, Puerto Rico, violating U.S. maritime security laws.

Vessels of 300 tons or greater must file advance notice of arrival. The Privacy weighs 498 tons.

3. Oh, yeah, Eldrick and Elin are terroristic as hell.

Bad week for golf related terrorism.

I was shooting video for marketing of a golf tournament in 2006 in Oklahoma City on Tuesday. When I got to the airport to go back to Florida to edit, since the production company that contracted me to do the shoot bought the ticket, I was orange carded and pulled over at security for the big fuckover they do to impress the rubes that we are safe. When they started swabbing my shit to test for explosives all of a sudden they started calling supervisors over because I tested positive for explosive residue. So then they have to take everything out of my bags and swab everything down and test some more, pat me down several times etc. Finally, they realize that I have something to do with golf, and they ask me if I have been walking around on a golf course, which, of course, I had been doing. Turns out the fertilizer residue on my shoes had contaminated my bag with "potential explosives". I guess they are pretty sensitive about fertilizer blowing up in Okie City. I was cool about it, however, as I am smart enough never to be rude to anyone who could shoot or incarcerate me, and thanked them for "keeping us safe" although I understand that the whole TSA scam is another redistribution of public wealth to busholini cronies and a total mind fuck to terrorize the sheeple into giving up their rights in the name of security. If anyone was ever going to blow up a plane, the shit would be coming in off of the tarmack, not through the freaking security overkill. And it would take a lot more fertilizer than the few grains on my shoes to do much damage.

Just another report from the front on the war on terrah. I don't feel any safer, however, since the real terrorist is still in the White House.

4. oh no
I thought they actually found explosives in your poopies ("When they started swabbing my shit") and I wondered how in the world that could be. I'm glad your poopies won't explode and you got on the plane fine.

5. I WAS preparing emotionally for the cavity search.
No telling what "potential explosives" they might find in that exercise.

Luckily, they decided to let me go.

I guess my proletarian colloquialisms are easily misunderstood. I'll try to be a little more precise with my verbiage. Thanks for calling me on the gross double entendre.

23. Not really.
But since all the elitist white boys on the PGA TOUR are protecting their tax breaks by kissing busholini inc ass, he keeps his mouth shut.

TOUR pros are cocooned, spoiled, and way over paid prima donnas. They vote only their pocketbooks and try to justify it with faux xianity or pseudo-conservatism, but they are all pretty much too dumb to have a nuanced political philosophy.

I love golf, but the TOUR is contiuing to fuck up the game with its elitist bullshit. European Tour pros have a much more cosmopolitan understanding of the world and politricks, and consequently have a deeper understanding of the game of golf. Witness the recent Ryder Cup.

24. This is not true.
Having worked closely with Tiger on several occasions, I can attest that he is remarkably down to earth and very professional when doing video work.

Many TOUR pros are insufferable assholes. Tiger, however, is respectful and good natured, in my experience.

21. In Galveston Bay
They have closed many prime fishing areas (if there really is such a think in Galveston Bay), near power plants and the like (fish like warm water in the winter) in the name of homeland security. It is mostly bullshit. the only good thing about this is that these areas are essentially marine proteced areas so hopefully populations will rebound. I find a lot of these security measures to be ridiculous in the extreme.

Here is the Coast Guard Web Site on the
http://www.uscg.mil/hq/g-m/mp/rules.html

Here is the Maritine Security Act:
http://www.uscg.mil/hq/g-m/mp/pdf/MTSA.pdf

Here are the Regulations:
http://www.uscg.mil/hq/g-m/mp/pdf/33cfr104.pdf

Reading the Act, the limit looks to be 100 tons not 300 tons Displacement. Here is a picture of a 25 ton displacment ship:
