Springsteen urges fans to vote for Kerry during concert
Edited on Tue Oct-12-04 09:59 AM by leftchick

<snip>
After firing up the audience with his all-time hit "Born in the USA," Springsteen switched to a more serious subject by shouting into the crowd: "Raise your voice for change!"

He then proceeded to sing "Because the Night" together with Michael Stipe, the lead singer of REM, and "Are You Ready" with the Dixie Chicks, a leading country trio.

"We are here tonight on a mission," declared Springsteen, widely referred to as the Boss. "We've got some work to do between now and Election Day. I want to say to the swing voters, what the hell are you waiting for? Halliburton?"

<snip>
"America is not always right, but America is always true," continued the Boss who was clad in his trademark black T-shirt and jeans. "Civil rights, protection of the environment, low wages forcing so many people to work two jobs. I believe Senator Kerry and Senator Edwards understand these are important issues."

2. The Boss is the Best

I wish he'd make a campaign commercial for K/E to run in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. He's a hero in those state.

On another note, I heard something that broke my heart today. My all-time favorite rock band ever was (I stress was) Aerosmith. I cut my teeth as a guitarist playing "Dream On," "Train Kept a Rollin'" (okay, originally the Rock and Roll Trio) and "Sweet Emotion" in garage bands. This morning I caught, I think on Headline News, that Steven Tyler is supporting Bush. Words cannot express my pain.

7. Yep, just confirmed
Here's a message I just sent to Headless, er . . Headline News. If you feel like it, add your voice too at:

Don't let them steal endorsements from major celebrities!

MY EMAIL TO HN:

This morning on Headline News I heard a story on the ACT concert tour for Kerry and Edwards, which your anchor then tried to "balance" by reporting on celebrities who support Bush/Cheney.

In that segment, she listed Steven Tyler, the lead singer of the rock band Aerosmith.

Tyler has announced his support for JOHN KERRY publicly, in a Boston Herald interview in June. THe interview can be found at:

I demand that you correct this error. It shows a clear bias in favor of the Bush campaign.

Sincerely
