Bush's campaign office in Spokane burglarized, vandalized
Come on Karl Rove and Chis Vance. This stuff's getting old.

By David Postman
Seattle Times chief political reporter

Offices that house President Bush's re-election campaign in Spokane were broken into and vandalized last night, the latest in a string of crimes at Republican offices across the country.
Workers arriving this morning found a hole smashed through the wall from an adjacent, vacant office. Bush campaign officials say a small amount of petty cash is missing and a computer and television had been moved and left near the hole.

"They must have gotten spooked because they ultimately left the computer and TV," said Bill Hyslop, the campaign's chairman for the Fifth Congressional District.

The computer and the TV had recently arrived in Spokane and the computer was loaded with information from the Republican get-out-the vote program.

1. Why are they worried...
Edited on Mon Oct-11-04 08:53 PM by IthinkThereforeIAM
... about the computer and the GOP "get out the vote" software and databases? Just a few weeks ago it was announced that the GOP "outsourced" Voter Vault programming to India.

<snip>

PC World has recently learned that the major development work on the Voter Vault was done in India. Though the RNC began work on a national database of voters in the mid-1990s, the Voter Vault wasn't ready to be put into the field until the 2002 elections. Two years prior to the 2002 elections, the RNC hired Advanced Custom Software (ACS) of Seattle to build a Web-based database to help campaign workers target likely Republican voters.

3. What's kind of bizarre is ...
I haven't heard anything like this happening in any of the really close swing states -- why wouldn't it be, if things are so much closer and more competitive? Washington State isn't that close, is it? I don't mean I don't think they did this to themselves, but why do it in a place where the Dems aren't nearly as worried about Kerry winning? You'd think they'd have the goddamned sense to pretend to have been vandalized in places where the race was closer, wouldn't you?

15. The article does say there were other offices vandalized in other areas...
In Bellevue last week, computers that stored the Republican get-out-the-vote database were stolen in a burglary at the Republican headquarters there. Bush campaign officials believe the break-ins are part of a broader attack on the president's re-election offices around the country, including a burglary in Canton, Ohio, last night, gun shots fired in West Virginia, Florida and Tennessee and union protestors storming offices in three Florida cities and Minneapolis.

6. Parlockery. They took the cash, left the computer so the office can work.
If someone had wanted to cripple the efforts of the office, would they have taken the computer, or the petty cash?

Just like Karl's made up story about the Clinton staffers destroying the White House :eyes: They never get tired of the same trick do they? These are the type that still leave flaming bags of dog poo on people's front steps thinking anyone would fall that in this day and age.

Happy Halloween, you tired old repukes.

11. Yes, according to FOX Spokane TV Whore News
Edited on Tue Oct-12-04 12:37 AM by dArKeRuSa
on Monday. Not spooked because enough time to dismantle the pc. I saw the hole on TV and it was big enough to fit any computer I've ever seen through it.

FOX said it must have been the labor unions. Gave no reason or evidence or hear-say to back this statement up. Then broke to the office repuke manager who said that everyone hopes for a fair election! PUKE!

I'd like to find out in the 4 places of break-ins around the country if the local police/mayor was repuke controlled!

14. "It MUST have been the Labour Unions..."
Why not the Communists? Oh, yeah, Ronaldus Rex beat the Commies, so it HAS to be the Unions...Besides, most of them are run by Bolsheviks, anyway...

Blame the Unions. And some of you folks STILL don't think the BFEE acts like Nazis?

16. Spokane has a nasty winter. This building had outer
insulation, plywood, inner insulation, two-by-fours, inner plywood or drywall. What I saw on FOX WHORE TV, three verticle two-by-fours were taken 'punched out'. Wonder how they did that without taking down the building? Unless it was Fire Rescue's Jaws of Life! I can't imagine why a tire-iron wasn't used to pop off the front or rear door hinges or lock. If Kerry were smart he'd send a private investigative team up here!

I'm going to go by the building if I can find it and see if there are any ATM or gas station cameras in the area.

21. Where is the Bush headquarters building?
Knowing the Repugs, they probably put it on Browne or Bernard somewhere between Main and Sprague. (And probably in the building at the corner of Sprague and Bernard, which is better known as P.M. Jacoy's--dealer in low-cost wines, cheap cigars and the Daily Racing Form.)

20. <snip> ... Kerry offices in Florida, Illinois and Ohio have been hit ...
... by vandalism. "From the Democrats' perspective, we would much rather have these final two weeks be about the economy under Bush, rising health care under Bush, rising gas prices under Bush, than anything like this as a distraction," Cabrera said. <snip>

23. I'm Afraid The Stuff About The Union Protesters
has some truth to it. I know there was an incident locally (Orlando area) where some protesters "stormed" an office. But thugs? No way. I have met the man who was arrested for battery in connection with the protest. I always thought he was a very nice, congenial man even when I put my foot in my mouth and made an anti-Union/labor comment. Thug is one of the last words I would use to describe him. I don't really know him well, so maybe I can't speak, but well, I've seen some Union guys that I'm like, yeah, I believe they'd do crap like this (not that they DID, but they could)

A lot of this though where they don't catch anyone I bet is Rove operatives. After all, he has a long history of these types of shenanigans.
