N.M. (TX) Dems upset officials staked out homes (during hurricane)

As a potential hurricane spun toward South Texas two weeks ago, six people from the Senate sergeant-at-arms office headed to the area, where several Democrats have homes.

The officers weren't checking on the safety of the lawmakers' houses.

They wanted to see if the Democrats -- who were boycotting a special session of the Legislature to block a Republican redistricting plan -- would return to check on their homes, leaving them open to being served with orders to return to the Capitol.

A spokesman for Republican Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst confirmed Thursday that the officers went to the area to look for the lawmakers.

The senators did not show up -- they still haven't returned to Texas -- so Sergeant-at-arms Carleton Turner and the others left after spending the night in the area.

5. thanks
It is stunning that evil men would try to take advantage of a natural disaster. There is just no end to their lack of human soul.

6. This is just too much!

I keep thinking that my opinion of Gov. GoodHair can't possibly get any lower and then I read a story like this. Pathetic.
