10. 20 years is maximum under felony manslaughter

for first degree. Second degree is something like 5 to 10 years in prison. Let's hope he gets the worst prison in SD and not minimum security. He's a murderer, plain and simple. And a careless one too.

Let him rot for that amount of time, and maybe he'll turn into a Dem. Most Repukes does after prison terms.

Let's hope the SD General Attorney General will not offer him plea deals and he's permanently expelled from any form of politics. Now he probably will be miserable working for minimum wage for the rest of his life.

12. Sentence Predictions

If settled (on a plea bargain), I predict loss of House seat, six months in jail, restitution (and/or community service), and five years of probation. I don't think the prosecutor is going to be able to offer zero jail time because there's a grieving family out there.

If convicted by a court, I predict loss of House seat, four years in jail, restitution (and/or community service), and ten years of probation.

I also predict Janklow takes his chances with the court. I don't think they plea.
