I think the proper descriptive phrase here would be "free fall." As somebody has already said millions of Americans got a change to see Bush and Kerry completely unfiltered for ninety minutes, and they're starting to change their minds.

of Dick Cheney? That's what Bush did and he flopped. Far from being his own man, Bush was weak and defensive. In the 2000 debates he could talk about his lies of what he was going to do for the American people. Now he has to answer for what he's done to the American people, and it hasn't been pretty.
