U.S. Soldier Killed by Small Arms Fire

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A U.S. soldier from Task Force Baghdad was killed by small arms fire, the military said in a statement Saturday.

The incident happened late Friday and caused no other casualties, the statement said. No further details were disclosed. The incident is under investigation.

The name of the soldier was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

2. September tied for the 3rd most deadly month
for US troops, and the deadliest since faux handover of Iraqi sovereignty. Who is sending "mixed messages" to the troops? Bush whose proclamations defy the facts of what is really happening in Iraq, or Kerry who dares to speak the truth?
