Bill O’Reilly's viewers are actually less educated than (Jon) Stewart's
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6117542/

The Associated Press
Updated: 6:52 p.m. ET Sept. 27, 2004

NEW YORK - The folks at Comedy Central were annoyed when Fox News Channel’s Bill O’Reilly kept referring to “The Daily Show” audience as “stoned slackers.”

So they did a little research. And guess whose audience is more educated?

Viewers of Jon Stewart’s show are more likely to have completed four years of college than people who watch “The O’Reilly Factor,” according to Nielsen Media Research.

... Comedy Central also touted a recent study by the University of Pennsylvania’s National Annenberg Election Survey, which said young viewers of “The Daily Show” were more likely to answer questions about politics correctly than those who don’t.

1. According the Annenberg, Daily Show viewers are best informed...
about politics, compared to viewers of other late night shows.

64. That's been their 'strategery' from the get-go. * waffles on everything
from reasons for war, to the 9/11 commission, to Condosleaza testifying, to limiting his own "visit" with the commissioners (can't have * 'testifying;' makes him sound like a CRIMINAL!) to OBL dead or alive, and on and on and on. So since * IS a flop of a flip-flopper, they HAD to smear Kerry with that 'flip flop' label.
Same with military service: * was an aWol zero, Kerry was a hero, so: discredit Kerry! Bingo!
Shameless whores, the ReThuglicans....just shameless.

56. WHAT!?
I know you got bunches of posts and I'm but a low posting lurker but shit man, I hope you weren't serious.
1)ted olson and his wife can suck on my balls, agreed, but I'm wary of anyone celebrating tragedy. Calling her death 'merely a step in the right direction' is outrageous. Perhaps we've become a bit immune to outrage after dealing with the administration but I don't find that in any way acceptable.
2)oreilly and his gimp can suck on my balls, but again wishing death upon them for being stupid and influencial smacks of fascism. Again, perhaps we've become a bit numb to fascism after 3 years but still, that don't make it ok.
3)'he needs to slam into the other side of the pentagon'? Are you kidding me? You want him to die in a plane hijacking that is then crashed into the center of our defense infrastructure, killing all those on board and many within the pentagon itself? Tell me, were the right to make a comment to the effect that Paul Krugman needs to be done like carnahan, that wellstone was a good first step, is this ok?
Seriously, you have no idea the irony. Between the title and the message the disconnect is alarming. I almost suspect that a freeper has hacked your account in order to make the left look ridiculous.
Get a grip

12. O'Reilly is a Corporate welfare hog
This guy has a 10-mil annual contract. He rags on the Hollywood elite who make less than this and actually have to work for it. Than consider for the amount of work that actually does is simply reading the daily Rove script and than screaming over his guests statements. He is overpaid and the majority of his salary should be going to the stockholders who have actually invested in his sponsors.

So in fact O'Reilly is sucking at the tit of Big Business......what a guy.

11. Fans of O'Lielly, Rush, Hannity, etc.
need a 'daddy' to tell them what to think. They are basically infantile and incapable of forming their own opinions.

Adult, educated people don't enjoy being hectored, and realize when they are being blatantly misinformed. Hence, O'Lielly gets the knuckle dragging crowd.

Clueless folks would not find Jon Stewart's show amusing, they wouldn't know what to make of it. The political pieces on the Daily Show are only funny if one has a working knowledge of the players and the issues.

It's really just so damn funny! Think about it, O'liely basically was slandering the Daily Shows viewers as slackers and stoner's, and his audience tends to be uneducated "Moran's".

18. This story from the department of the utterly unsurprising
We need story tags for headlines like they have at Fark.com.

This one would get the "obvious" tag.

Anyone with half a whit of intellect and insight could watch both shows for a week and tell you which one appeals to a more educated and informed audience.

Stoned slackers, my ass. Put me in that category as opposed to the "mouth-breathing knuckle-dragger" category that watches O'Liely.

"Shut up, shut up, SHUT UP!!! Cut his mic."

37. Nielsen: Stoned Slackers Brighter Than Drunk Crackers! My Poem.
Edited on Mon Sep-27-04 08:50 PM by David Zephyr
How swiftly truth contradicts O'Reilly,
Each time the fool opens his mouth,
Is he jealous of Stewart's audience so smiley,
Because his are mostly bigots down south?
For Nielson now tells us that Stewart's "Stoned Slackers"
Are more educated than O'Reilly's drunk crackers.

Here we have a true culture war. The close-minded dummies are taking over the world, beating up on "liberal intellectuals" to prove THEY are superior!!! Haven't you noticed?

They hate us for our "freedom" of thought--or ability to think, period. At least they are smart enough to figure out that "we've" been making fun of "them"--but they have nothing to fight back with except just pure, unadulterated, irrational nastiness and hatred.

Did you guys take the vote for who you get your campaign news from?

The Daily Show had 41% @2:23 when I voted.

It's really no surprise that O'Liely is so jealous of the "liberals", because we actually are better informed then the people who watch his show.

He likes his audience to be stupid, it's easier to manipulate the masses!

When the protest against the RNC in NY, (which I recored from c-span), all day long when people approached the Fox news building they were chanting, "Fox News Sucks", "Fuck Fox News", "Fox News Lies", "Boycott Fox". I laugh every time I re-watch the tape.

It's no wonder why O'Liely hates us.
