1. You know the first 1000 are the hardest, they should come pretty quick now

2. So, I guess the next time the news mentions the deaths will be
when they hit 10,000 in a year or so, since the rate is increasing quickly.

And 18,000 or so seriously injured if I remember the article from this morning correctly

4. Oh yeah? Wull, it's still 57,000 fewer than were killed in Vietnam
In 12 years. Uh . . .

You liberals! {Shakes pale pudgy fist ineffectually}

Have I mentioned lately how much I hate these guys?

6. I am too scared to close my eyes
http://www.bushflash.com/year.html WATCH THIS VIDEO only takes 3 minutes

Enveloped in a sentiment,
A sound that rushes over me.
Engage an impulse to pretend
I have a faith as pure.
Not forgetting what it means to dream.
Indulging everything.
Entertaining thoughts that I've the strength
Of those I yearn to be.
Cheers and tribute greet the saviours.
Reckless thoughts survive.
Anachronistic and impulsive.

And what will happen?
Will I dream?
I am too scared to close my eyes.
For a second please hold me.
None can change in me these things that I believe.
But I don't know what happens now.
I am too scared to close my eyes.

If this doesn't put a tear in one's eye then that one is dead.

8. Please listen to this song 0007
"We're All In This Thing Together" - Gillian Welch, David Rawlings and Old Crow Medicine Show

We're all in this thing together
Walking the line between faith and fear
This life don't last forever
When you cry, taste the salt in your tears

I cry every time I watch that video

10. Thanks again - I just listened to it and it is indeed great.
Garrison Keilor does put on great shows, and is one of my favorites.

I receive Keilor's "Writers Almanac" by e-mail every morning. 'The thing he does on NPR with the poem.

9. Al-Anbar
I count so far 36 in Al-Anbar province this month, probably couple more. Things are not rosy for the 1st Marine Expedition Force.
