Blair denies dossier was case for war
Blair's evidence to the Hutton enquiry. He really is up and down on Iraq more often than a whore's drawers. Make of this what you will.

http://politics.guardian.co.uk/kelly/story/0,13747,1030714,00.html

Tony Blair today told the Hutton inquiry that the September dossier was "not making the case for war" and denied that Alastair Campbell had been involved in anything more than assisting with its "presentation".

The prime minister also described Andrew Gilligan's claim that No 10 had "sexed up" the dossier as an allegation that "would have merited my resignation."

Mr Blair is also expected to be asked about his role in the decision making process that led to the exposure of David Kelly.

Yesterday, the defence secretary, Geoff Hoon, identified him as one of the architects of the "naming strategy" which led to the scientist's exposure.

1. What was it for then?
To scare children with? Blair is going to walk through this with no major damage. I hate him.

4. It was for my bathroom
I was running short of bog roll in September last year and Tony kindly agreed to produce something for me to wipe my arse on.

Here is the evidence he has given so far. I think this lot is headed for the same pile as his dossiers got put on in my bathroom. There's a whole lot of non-answers here IMHO.

6. I'd like to expand
So I'll eat more (boom boom)!

I'm extremely disappointed today. The BBC have swerved first. I watched their media affairs spokesman basically admit that the BBC had failed to accurately report facts. This is devastating and effectively lets the government off the hook. Hoon survives, Campbell survives, Blair survives and our young men continue to die in Iraq.

Dr Kelly's evidence will never be heard. He's dead due to the pressure put on him by the MOD and unfortunately, it seems by poor judgement within the BBC. The concerns Kelly had over "evidence" seem to have been ignored as it's more fun to speculate who killed him

What is of great concern to me is the fact that there was no threat seems to have been lost, no doubt exactly as Blair/Campbell hoped it would be. I knew once I saw Campbell's bombastic defence of his position over the 45mins claim that he was NOT involved in THAT decision. However, it seems clear he was happy to be involved in the rest of it.

7. A technicality, huh?
What was Blair's case for war based on again?

Doesn't matter, what matters is preserving the status quo, because actually facing the reality of the truth might risk knocking down that essential domino.

8. That's it exactly
The Hutton enquiry is there to salve our national conscience. Only an idiot would honestly believe that Tony Blair did not want to go to war.

Blair is a pro corporate, pro war quisling. But he speaks nicely and seems sincere. People are stupid enough to vote for that rather than substance.

9. That's the way it looks to me

The evidence of an awful of of people at the Hutton enquiry seems to have been more about passing the buck than anything else. Of course there are those who will try to defend Blair for accepting that he was responsible for outing Kelly but he is still denying an awful lot of other things. For instance,

Mr Blair said he was aware of assistance given by No 10 in drafting the MoD press statement that revealed a source had come forward, without giving a name.
But he said he was not aware of the existence of the MOD's plans for a defensive Q&A for dealing with the media, but "I would have thought it perfectly natural that the MoD had to prepare to field enquiries"

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/3188601.stm

Who the heck diod know about what the MoD spin doctors were up to? Because it certainly appears that Geoff (buf)Hoon did not if he is to be believed.

3. He's bluffing - the gamble of his lifetime.
Blair's trying to do a Pontius Pilate on this one, because his top WMD scientist was found dead in mysterious circumstances, having talked to the media about his opinion of UK intelligence gathering and its subsequent public presentation. He looks scared and is playing the resignation card because that's all he's got.

Bottom line: Dr Kelly ratted on The Gospel According to Blair, saying it was exaggerated and therefore unprofessional. He pointed his finger at Blair's spindoctor and was shortly found dead in an apparent suicide. Can't help thinking there's a parallel to the apparent 'suicide' of Roberto Calvi (God's Banker) twenty odd years ago and only just now being re classified as murder.
Thank god the UK public are a lot more skeptical and sophisticated than the idiot labour party think tanks give them credit for.

5. I trust that Lord Hutton
will see Blair with his superficiality and deceitfulness and all that goes with protecting his position.
