Bush Gains, but Not With Swing Voters
Bush Gains, but Not With Swing Voters

Thu Sep 16,12:16 AM ET

By WILL LESTER, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites) has been gaining ground among overall voters as a leader and the man to fight terrorism, but swing voters have been less impressed, a tracking poll suggests.

But among swing voters, those who are undecided or say they might vote for another candidate, Bush appeared to lose some ground in the Annenberg survey and was no stronger than he was in August on the issues of fighting terrorism or being the better commander in chief.

1. A Leader? A Man to Fight Terrorism?
Bush couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag without help. Good grief, anyone who saw the 7 minutes in the schoolhouse should realize what a botch he made of 9/11. Sorry, I want a LEADER. That's someone with intelligence who assesses a situation and changes as conditions change. If Bush isn't impressing swing voters, who in the world is saying he's wonderful except his base?

2. He is a strong leader, but is leading us in the wrong direction!!!!
He has proven to be a decisive but foolhardy leader taking us either backwards negating progress that was made in the Clinton years or into dangerous unknown territory. A passive inactive President would have been better than AWOL's brand of leadership.

3. Hannibal was a strong leader, too, and look how that ended
Hannibal the Carthaginian, not the cannibal

17. Hannibal was another victim of "catastrophic success"
Not that I'd put Dubya in the same leadership category as Hannibal. Hannibal after all, was brave, tough and an excellent military strategist.

Hannibal's army won its early victories because of Hannibal's leadership.

The US armed forces won in spite of Dubya. Bush*t is NOT a strong a leader. He just plays one on TV.

18. So when Kerry wins...
...with all these classical allusions, to we get to raze Dubya's ranch and plow salt into the earth? Or pour molten gold down W's throat? or just give him a rifle and semd him to Iraq?

5. Loud, Wrong and Spoiled Rotten ...
Is No Way To Run a Nation.

I think the Neo-Con Chickenhawks have viewed one too many action flicks. * unfailingly emulates a psycho- deviation of a Bruce Willis Action Hero ... I love watching the fight scenes but in the real world, they don't come at you one at a time. Damn, can't stand that FU persona while many folks who've never faced adversity think they're REAL. Nope - Little Tin Gods. :P

16. Croesus of Lydia was also a strong leader
The Oracle at Delphi told him that if he attacked the Persians, he would destroy a mighty empire. The Persians resisted and counterattacked, eventually defeating the Lydians and capturing Croesus. The former king was allowed to protest to the Oracle, saying that he had been told he would be victorious in a war. The Oracle replied, after hearing our prophecy you should have next inquired which empire was to be destroyed.

With that, consider all of the prophecies handed down to us by soothsayers such as Wolfowitz, et al, including the one about dancing in the streets and the one about Iraq's (*gulp*) liberation. I wonder how Herodotus would record the annals of this war for posterity.

That's the true feelings of America.
I'm so glad they did that.
At least someone will be able to teach that girl that her daddy didn't stand up and fight for her because he was afraid. He'll probably give some b-s that he didn't want to get her hurt. He could have put her on the other side of the railing.
What a bozo. Looks like he's gonna cry.
