Lepore, designer of the infamous butterfly ballot, lost reelection in a Democratic primary recently. In that primary many Democrats went to the polls and discovered their registration was changed to Republican, making them ineligible to vote in the Elections Supervisor's race. In the first count of the absentee ballots in that election 37,000 votes were counted of 31,000 cast. The recount of the absentee ballots discovered another 700 votes for Lepore, but that wasn't enough to put her over the top. Despite legal requirements that observers be present when the votes were counted Lepore refused to allow them. Naturally the Democrats have done nothing to prevent a repeat of this in the November election, which is the last Lepore will supervise.
With that context, look at what else she gets to do:

LePore said her office plans to print about 100,000 absentee ballots for the Nov. 2 general election. Versions have been designed with and without Nader's name, but getting them printed on special paper with special ink takes at least five days, LePore said.
