DFL Criticizes GOPer's E-Mail Urging Harassment at Kerry Event
The Associated Press

The state Democratic Party chairman said Friday that GOP leaders should denounce a state lawmaker who urged Republicans to disrupt a campaign event by supporters of presidential candidate John Kerry.

In a news release, the DFL Party included an e-mail that Rep. Bill Kuisle had sent to Olmsted County Republicans, urging them to attend an event in Rochester on Friday featuring singer Carole King and the group Minnesota Women for John Kerry.

Kuisle provided the details of the event and said, "If anyone can go and harass it would be appreciated. Bill."

Kuisle, R-Rochester, confirmed that he sent the e-mail but said the word 'harass' was not directed at women. He said he was simply referring to the standard counter-demonstrations in which people wave signs and make noise. ..

1. When one is an idiot, and has nothing to say,
he would prevent others from speaking, as well.

anymore. "Harass" is exactly the word he meant to use, especially in relation to a women sponsored event.

It's bad enough to merely be acting like brownshirts...

5. They have no problem throwing them down and kicking them.
And pulling their hair. They are real he-men, aren't they? Notice how they have yet to take on any men in these altercations?

4. I am utterly disgusted...
at the vile, violent, vicious, vindictive nature of the Bush supporters.

Anything goes, anyway possible, the dirty nature of the GOP is beyond contempt, and at the most fundamental level, how can you support ANY candidate who wants to hold on to power at any cost, with low blows and a criminal mindset to achieve it.

12. It definitely would fire up a LOT of people. How obNOXious.
It'd be great to see a few of these Republican bullies meet a ton of discouragement in one of their sallies forth to interfere with decent citizens!

You can be sure he'd shriek like an air-raid siren if he suspected any Democrats would deprive him one moment's peace of mind at one of his own gatherings.

Looks like he did, goddammit.

Those people in your photograph don't exactly look like upstanding citizens, do they? I'm certain they'd be game for almost anything: blowing up people's mail boxes, slashing tires, and worse. Did someone catch them slipping him a bribe?

29. No, no, you don't get it at ALL
There are rules for THEM, and there are rules for US. And never the twain shall meet. They can basically do anything; we, however, are required to conduct ourselves under the normal rules of social decorum.

Get it now? ;-)

22. How would an email like this not be illegal?
Isn't this email akin to inciting a riot, or at least violence?

And was it sent from a government-provided email system? If so, I'm certain that it would be considered improper use of government resources. (election activities using gov't resources)

MNans, please prosecute this bastid.

23. How very republican.
Edited on Sat Sep-11-04 06:20 PM by snippy
Unrelated to this thread, but I have been using the phrase "how very republican" recently to describe various actions or statements of republicans in Congress or the Bush administration and it is remarkable how much it seems to irritate some republicans. Some truly devoted shittoheads have gone ballistically apeshit. However, democrats and independents, and even completely apolitical people, almost always agree.
