Voters Don't Want Bush Re-Elected - Poll

Voters Don't Want Bush Re-Elected - Poll
VOA News
24 Aug 2003, 06:50 UTC

The majority of American voters would not like to see President Bush re-elected to another term according to a poll by Newsweek magazine.

The survey released Saturday showed that 49 percent of registered voters would not back the president for a second term if the vote were held now. Forty-four percent would support Mr. Bush's re-election.

The poll marked the first time in a Newsweek survey that supporters of Mr. Bush were out-numbered by those who would not like to see him back remain in office. In April, 52 percent of voters backed the president for a second term, while 38 percent did not.

The Newsweek report attributed the decline in the president's popularity to public disenchantment over the Iraq war. The poll found 69 percent of respondents said they were concerned that the United States will be bogged down for many years in Iraq without achieving its goals there.

I know this poll has been floating around, but I think it's interesting that it made VOA.

1. Let us not forget.....

*bush was never elected so he's just running again.....I always want to :puke: every time I hear even democrats say re-election in conjunction with *bush.

It reminds me of a similar mis-quote when folks refer to children who are adopted .... as their adopted children. Hey, so what, why differenciate a parental bond.

Both issues are classic ignorance.

It's a good thing that folks who think he was elected don't want him now...That is progress. :)

2. Bush family hubris
You can always count on arrogant Republicans to overreach when they have all the power.

It's terrible that so many lives have to be wasted to wake people up and turn against him. But it will be a happy day for our nation when he is turned out of power.

9. Hejira!
The best album in the history of the world! Sorry I never noticed you before.

And yes, how tragic some tens of thousands had to die before many awakened to the obvious.......

15. "arrogant Republicans to overreach"
they always do don't they? What a mess they have
now with Iraq becoming a terrorest haven, Afganistan
losing ground to the Taliban again, loss of support
from most of the world's nations, deficits at record
numbers, job losses continuing with no end in sight.

They have a failing foreign policy...
They have a failing domestic policy...

Goodbye bushy baby....

3. Keep up the good work, DU!
Spreading the word is getting heard. Kick the Little Turd from Crawford out of the White House! With an honest US Attorney General, his next permanent mailing address should read:

Inmate George Walker Bush
Prisoner No. 666-Jr
USP Leavenworth
1300 Metropolitan
Leavenworth, Kansas 66048

4. Please, not Kansas!
We have enough wackos here. However, I wonder if he would be allowed visitors? I am a little over a hour away from there and could make his miserable little life even worse if given the chance.

11. Sorry, MuseRider. Maybe we can vote?
Here's a listing of federal prison facilities.

http://www.bop.gov/facilnot.html

The one in the Nevada desert sounded nice till I learned it was a minimum-security facility. So, it looks like Lompoc, California, gets my vote. Make them dig their own latrines and NO A/C!

No matter which facility earns the distinction, the scoundrels and gangsters in the Bush Organized Crime Family should be locked up where they can make little rocks out of big ones for the rest of their natural days. At night they should bunk with maximum-security types where they will have to sell their favors to survive. It will be the first honest work any of them have ever done.

13. How about Alcatraz for them
The Native Americans would probably be more than willing to abandon their claim in favor of locking the bushistas and their pet corporate robber barons up in Alcatraz.

...who thwart the will of God.

He has chosen His instrument, and it is not in our power to make another choice.

Polls are a form of blasphemy!

Yahweh doesn't do polls.

He didn't call focus groups to ask "What should I turn Lot's wife into? Pillar of salt? Ice sculpture? Fire hydrant?"

Repent -- there is still time to change your minds!

61% still say it was "the right thing to do"??? What did they think would happen after we bombed the shit out of a country, they'd be happy w/ no water, lights, homes, men, parents, children, women. At least the Shrub factor is going down.

12. our president may be a lame chimp
the democratic primary might be like the Western Conf. championshimp used to be, where it was assumed the winner would also be the NBA champ.

Most of what Bush is is just perception, if it starts becoming "everybody knows Bush sucks," it's all over for him.
