Warming Up for New York, Bush Sounds Moderate Note NYT

As he sweeps across the country practicing his lines for his convention speech in New York on Thursday night, President Bush is subtly shifting his campaign pitch toward the middle ground: stripping his speeches of strong ideology, emphasizing economic pragmatism, even admitting to making what he casts as modest errors in judgment in the Iraq war. ..

At every stop, Mr. Bush now volunteers the fact that Saddam Hussein apparently had no unconventional weapons but he makes no apologies for going into Iraq. ..

3. Yes of course he is. The more moderate
he appears, the more radical the protesters appear. If he were to show his true extreme religious reich self, it would give the protesters legitimacy.

ps went to a Kerry rally today, and one of the things i pointed out to the obligatory bushbots was that bush is all lies, and even the convention is a lie, not daring to show who is really running the reThug party these days.
