Two agencies will check whether Alfred French's affidavit against Sen. John Kerry violates legal ethics

Thursday, August 26, 2004

STEPHEN BEAVEN

The Oregon State Bar has received several complaints about a Clackamas County prosecutor who said in a sworn affidavit that Sen. John Kerry lied about his Vietnam service, but then said he did not witness the events in question.

A spokeswoman said Wednesday that the bar has received 28 e-mails, calls and letters about Alfred French, a Clackamas County deputy district attorney. French appeared in a national television ad calling Kerry a liar, but later said he was relying on the word of wartime colleagues.
. . .
The secretary of state's Election Division also received a complaint about French. Both agencies are conducting investigations, but neither has determined whether the complaints are valid.
. . .
According to Walsh, the initial review will determine whether there is credible evidence of an ethics violation. If so, the bar will conduct a formal investigation.

1. Twenty-eight e-mails?? More than 28 DUers ALONE have raised hell!
If that's all they've received, maybe we'd better get back to work!

Sir,

I agree people have different opinions and may freely express those opinions
but a signed affidavit is something different, as you well know. It's
certainly your choice to make and it is you own integrity that is at stake.

The other so-called "newspapers"....along with the rest of the media, JUST DON'T GET IT!!

We need some printing presses, and some sweaty DUers rolling 'em!!

We've got some pretty remarkable talent here, don't we?

4. Phone calls are probably recorded and logged.. I would suggest calls

instead of emails...

and paper letters..mailed with a stamp.. If you have Oregon family or friends, perhaps they could mail it from Oregon..

If too many eager "webbies" ...especially from out of state, start piling on, it could actually backlash, and make the guy out to be some poor schlub who has a bunch of web crazies harassing him :(
