Kerry Campaign Says 'Just Ask A Woman'; Launches Women for Kerry ..
Edited on Thu Aug-26-04 03:46 PM by Nambe
US Newswire

Continuing an unprecedented effort to reach out to American women, the Kerry- Edwards campaign today launched its national Women for Kerry- Edwards initiative. Today's announcement features a report entitled, "Just Ask A Woman: A National Report on Women in America."

The report examines how women have fared during the Bush administration over the past three and a half years and the Kerry- Edwards plan for women in America. Highlights of the report include women outlining their personal story and their support for the Kerry-Edwards ticket.

"As I've traveled the country, I've listened to women from all walks of life and heard their stories of struggle and triumph," said Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry. "An America stronger at home means respecting and honoring the many roles that women play in our country and as President, I will do just that."

Teresa Heinz Kerry, Elizabeth Edwards, Vanessa Kerry and Cate Edwards will headline the launch of Women for Kerry- Edwards at events in Florida, Michigan, New Hampshire and Ohio. ..

1. Excellent idea.
Reach out to women, get more of them to vote, and it will be Kerry in a landslide.

23. Contact NOW, and get their list
Edited on Fri Aug-27-04 01:19 AM by kurtyboy
The National Organization for Women has compiled lists of unregistered single women around the nation---NOW wants them to vote, and so do we.

They'll supply the lists to organizations pushing to register new voters--and we only really have one month left. Call them, target the women on the list, and get those women to vote in November. It is a non-partisan effort, but we all know how the vote will go.

GET TO WORK!

2. I wear my "It's up to the women - John Kerry for President" pin proudly!
Edited on Thu Aug-26-04 03:55 PM by MaineDem
When women vote Democrats win! It's a proven fact.

Edited so that my spelling doesn't make me look like an idiot. I can manage that without spelling errors. ;)

7. I will never understand why ANY woman would vote republican
I think it would be the sure sign of low self esteem to vote for a party that consistently takes rights from women.

9. Republican Women
I sometimes think that women who vote Republican are those who are seeking a cozy, undemanding asylum in which they can vegetate. I have a friend who follows her disgusting husband's lead in politics and I cannot budge her. She is intelligent, does good things, admits the Pinhead in the Oval Office is lacking in almost everything required to lead this country and will still vote for him. I suspect she is attempting to keep peace in her home and simply will not see how important this election is to all of us. Anyway, I have noted that so many women of this type have a certain chrysalis attitude, rejecting anything that might jar their comfortable sleep. I am so very sorry for them; they will die without ever having lived.

In the booth, she can slip one for Kerry and her husband will never know the difference.

She was just gushing about what a "lady" Laura Bush is, and how "that Heinz woman" should be "locked up somewhere." I thought my head would explode.

12. I went to a Women for Kerry round table disscussion today
Valarie Harper was our main spokeperson. It was really good. Then we had lunch at the local Dem Hdqtrs in Reno with her. Get your pins and they want us to talk to every woman we come in contact with and tell them how good Kerry will be for women and families. When women vote, Democrats win.

16. single women
You may want to spend most of your efforts on single women.

Married women are economically more stable and more republican.

I'm concentrating on the youth, minority and gay vote in the swing state of Ohio! I walk around on my lunch break registering and talking to people.

15. Women can, do and will make the difference
In this election. This is a very wise move on the part of the K/E campaign. Bring on those wonderful, wise, educated women who have minds of their own and see what is happening in this country to the families who are trying to exist without jobs and health insurance. :kick: :kick: :kick: :kick:

22. They are up against "W" is for Women
The Pugs have their own campaign called W is for Women, thinking they can get support.

Also Thursday's USA Today says married women are more likely to vote for Bush than single women. Married women, particularly those who do not work outside the home are reliable voters.

We have got to fix that trend...

24. Good Thinking
I saw a Yahoo News Story the other day that said women can not identify with either candidate! Bush or Kerry! Kerry's thinking ahead if he reaches out to Women Voters.
