Fla. May Fine GOP Figure for 2000 Recount Actions
Washington Post

As Florida's presidential recount raged in December 2000, a newly created political group spent $150,000 attacking three pro-Democratic state Supreme Court justices who threatened George W. Bush's hopes for victory.

The Florida Elections Commission now says the "Committee to Take Back Our Judiciary" was a front group for unidentified donors trying to ensure Bush's election. The panel is weighing a possible $450,000 fine against the committee's chairwoman, Republican Mary McCarty, a Palm Beach County commissioner.

But the committee's real organizer, the election commission said, was veteran GOP political consultant Roger Stone, who has been involved in major campaigns dating to Richard M. Nixon's administration. The election commission wanted to question Stone, who owns a home in Florida, but it couldn't locate him to serve a subpoena. ---

3. And don't forget...
Two Wrights made the airplane.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I saw an earlier post about how *'s safari had an interesting ending with 2 elephants trying to make a baby elephant in front of them, to put it politely.

I guess irony has a way of being ironic - that's what seems to be happening in Florida. Are they finally beginning to eat their own, in an attempt to distance themselves from the current mess??

2. Why I think this is BAD
Because it seems like when anyone proves a case regarding the stolen election, all that happens is someone is fined, or someone is awarded a settlement. It happened to the NAACP when they pressed their lawsuit regarding the huge number of African-Americans who were robbed of their right to vote - they won, but all they got out of it was money. MONEY ISN'T ENOUGH!!! WHAT WE NEED IS JUSTICE - THE GREAT IMPOSTER EVICTED FROM OUR RIGHTFUL PLACE IN THE WHITE HOUSE.

5. you said it: money is not enough
money doesn't give back the vote these men and women were due. money doesn't change the fact that the Bush campaign had no legal right to files briefs in Florida (they themselves were not wronged and thus had no legal basis)...it's in the book by Vincent Bugliosi, "The Betrayal of America."

4. What I don't like is the possible fine
They are guilty of fraud, a phony front group, working for the bu$h cabal and all they're going to get is maybe a $450K fine. One, I doubt that Mary McCarty will get the full fine, and two this Roger Stone guy with $150K of untraceable money is weasel that needs to be tried as well. When he starts protesting about his reputation being ruined and screaming lawsuit for damages, you know there's a fire in there somewhere.

Don't be surprised when the Florida Elections Commission all of a sudden backs down because of the financial budget crisis or some other crisis and close the case.

6. These people should be charged, tried, and imprisoned...
as should DeLay's Brownshirts for their interference in the vote count.
